Chad Gable advanced to the next round on WWE Speed, while Corey Graves was not on commentary for the show.

Chad Gable defeated NXT’s Charlie Dempsey in the opening match of a new Number One Contender’s Tournament on the January 15th episode of WWE Speed. Gable scored the win in the closing seconds as he hit Dempsey with the Chaos Theory.

Corey Graves, who typically calls the action on WWE Speed, was absent. Instead, Blake Howard was on commentary. This comes after Graves sparked some controversy with a tweet in which he addressed his move to NXT and implied that he was told he wasn’t famous enough for his job. Graves was then absent from the January 14th episode of WWE NXT after he initially tweeted that he’d be on the show.

The Number One Contender’s Tournament will continue on the January 22nd episode of WWE Speed, as Chris Sabin will face Grayson Waller.
