Backstage News On AEW Choosing Crypto.com Arena For Revolution After WWE Exclusivity Agreement EndedJeff Whalen

-- AEW released a new slate of live events running from December into the first couple months of 2025 including AEW Revolution which heads to Los Angeles, CA however not at a venue that they have ran before.

-- In the past, AEW has chosen to run at the Kia Forum formerly known as The Forum and The Great Western Forum that hosted both the NBA's Lakers as well as the NHL's Kings up until 1999 but this time they are running Crypto.com arena (previously The Staples Center) which is a new arena that currently hosts the Lakers and Kings. As noted, it would be the first time AEW has hit up this venue due to the fact that WWE had an exclusivity agreement with them until recently when they chose instead to go to the Intuit Dome for Raw in January, the first one on Netflix. The Intuit is where the NBA's Clippers play.

-- Fightfulselect.com reports that at least one source from Crypto.com Arena stated that it rubbed the venue the wrong way that WWE switched sites but at the same time were happy that AEW announced Revolution for their arena, more so that it happened so quick after WWE's announcement. In the past, Crypto.com/Staples had been extremely accommodating to WWE, and in fact on one occasion, allowed WWE to reserve the arena with just a few days notice when the promotion was asked to move from Denver's Pepsi Arena due to another sporting event.
