Austin Theory made magic in the ring with The Rock.

In September 2023, The Rock interrupted a segment involving Pat McAfee and Austin Theory. The People’s Champion ran down Austin Theory on the microphone, before laying him out with a spinebuster. He followed this with a People’s Elbow as the crown went absolutely mental at the return of The Rock.

This was undoubtedly one of the best moments in 2023, as well as in Austin Theory’s career so far. Appearing on the Battleground Podcast, Austin Theory spoke about his segment with The Rock. The former Mr Money in the Bank called it an “honor”, and revealed that it was “pure magic” that night.

Austin Theory revealed how The Rock told him that the pair were going to make magic, and it became a moment that really stuck with the young star.

“Like every opportunity or moment I've had the honor of being a part of, I really take it all in. I can remember a lot of moments so specifically. One that stands out is The Rock promo. I had never met The Rock before. A couple of guys in the back had met him at the Performance Center or on the main roster, but I'd never had an interaction with him.”

“Then, 30 minutes before that whole segment took place, I met The Rock. He told me, ‘We’re going to create magic out there. You're gonna feel it, so just feel it out there.’ And I did. Just seeing how the crowd reacts to him—it's pure magic, man. That moment really stuck with me.”
