Athena made the shocking decision to expel Lexy Nair from M.I.T. on ROH this week.

The group was formed in late 2023 with Lexy Nair and Billie Starkz joining ROH Women’s Champion Athena. The two young stars learnt under Athena’s tutelage as she aimed to continue her world championship reign “forever.”

Despite this, Billie Starkz became the closest to ending Athena’s world title reign. She came close to beating her for the title at Final Battle 2024, although fellow “minion” Lexy Nair helped her leader keep her belt to extend her title reign over 740 days.

On ROH in the week following that match, a “Minion Expulsion Ceremony” was planned for M.I.T. It seemed likely that Billie Starkz would be expelled from the group, following her attempts to take the ROH Women’s Championship from Athena at Final Battle.

Athena’s speech made it seem like Starkz would be the one to leave the group. However, the tone quickly changed as Lexy Nair was revealed as the minion being thrown out of the group.

She bemoaned her poor ring announcing, her failure to dress as a penguin at Final Battle and claimed she almost cost Athena to lose at ROH Final Battle 2024. Athena said that it was just her and Billie Starkz from now on.

This is likely to keep Billie Starkz close. Athena realizes she is the main threat to her championship and keeping her close to her is the best way to make sure the title remains around her waist for as long as possible – forever, she hopes.

Athena Comments On Her Two-Face Gear At ROH Final Battle

Athena channeled her inner Batman villain last night at Ring of Honor Final Battle.

"Umm, Two-Face. I've been told that I have a mean streak in me," Athena said. "I don't know, it's really unbelievable. I am the sweetest thing in the world. But I'm a big, big Batman fan. Batman is my absolute favorite superhero.

"I love all the villains because, at any point in time, Batman could just not be good. But the villains really stand out to me. Like Harvey Dent with him fighting the good parts of himself with the bad. It's so beautiful and chaotic that I felt like I had to do an ode.

"But I'm just a big fan of that particular Two-Face. So I'm glad that everyone understood. But it was a lot of, I've been told I have a mean streak and that I can lose my temper. Just maybe, a teeny weeny bit. I felt like just having the different sides of Athena, of having the good side meets the teeny weeny bit angry side, that was a nice conglomeration if you will. No gimmick infringement intended of me as a character."
