AEW News: Tony Schiavone Shares Specific Reason He Missed Last Week's DynamiteJeff Whalen

-- AEW commentator Tony Schiavone missed last week's episode of Dynamite, but returned later in the week for Collision. At the time, it was believed that Schiavone missed Dynamite due to a family situation and speaking on his "What Happened When" podcast, the veteran play-by-play man confirmed that was the case as his wife Lois underwent hip replacement surgery on Tuesday and was released from hospital on Wednesday, forcing him to miss the AEW show.

-- Schiavone's absence ended up leading to some speculation that he was being punished for a tweet he directed towards NJPW commentator Chris Charlton. Charlton had made negative comments against AEW on air during Wrestle Dynasty and was subsequently suspended by the Japanese promotion. Schiavone had tweeted (and later deleted): "Hey (Chris Charlton) speaking for all of us in AEW, GFY. And speaking for all of us who have been around you, take a shower once in a while." Ian Riccaboni filled in last week for Schiavone on Dynamite.
