The Northern Kentucky Clippers showed off their depth on day 2 of the Christiansburg Sectionals, racking up points to maintain a significant lead over the competition on both the girls' and boys' side of racing.

Leading the charge for the Clippers was Chase Knopf, who won the boys 400 IM in 3:51.46. The Louisville commit knocked 2.53 off of his previous best time, set just a few months ago in December. His performance saw him blast into the wall over eight seconds ahead of runner-up William Hartig (3:59.86); the pair were the only two in the field to go sub-4:00.

Knopf also took 2nd in the 200 free, posting a lifetime best time of 1:39.21, and helped his team to a runner-up finish in the 800 free relay (6:51.72) behind Lancaster Aquatic Club.

Lancaster's Trevor Olson picked up two more victories on Friday, prevailing in the 200 free and 800 free relay, to bring his total win count to three thus far.

Olson won the 200 in 1:37.11, just .22 off of his lifetime best, while he was joined by teammates Samuel Kieffer, John Moll and Brody Reber to post a time of 6:49.40 in the relay.

On the girls's side, Sadie Hartig turned in a series of top performances for the Clippers. Hartig, committed to swim for the Air Force Academy next season, took home the title in the 400 IM in 4:24.53, shaving .39 off her personal best.

Hartig also recorded two runner-up performances; she took 2nd in the 200 free (1:51.19) and helped her team to a 2nd-place finish in the 800 free relay (7:38.04).

Other top performers included Cumberland Valley Aquatic Club's Ava Buhrman, who won the 200 free in 1:48.37 and was runner-up in the 100 breast in 1:02.95, and Northern Kentucky's Abigail Carnes, who dropped over six seconds to take 3rd in the 400 IM (4:29.08) and mark her first time under 4:30.
