Fight fans witnessed one of the most brutal knockout finishes of the year earlier this morning (Sat., Nov. 23, 2024) at UFC Macau LIVE on ESPN+ from inside Galaxy Arena in Macau, China, as touted prospect Feng Xiaocan suffered a wild upset at the hands of a Shi Ming head kick.

Feng was a sizeable betting favorite to handle her business on Saturday and burst into the UFC in fashion. She even possessed a massive five-inch height advantage over Ming, who entered this "Prelims" affair with just one knockout victory to her name. In other words, this was Feng's fight to lose.

Unfortunately for the young 22-year-old fighter, Ming had different plans for UFC's long-awaited return to Macau.

After two rounds of action, Ming was able to land a monstrous head kick in the third round. Given the height disadvantage, it was pretty impressive she was able to even reach her leg up that far. The kick landed flush on Feng's head and instantly shut her lights off and left her motionless on the canvas. It was a pretty scary scene as the talented fighter took almost four minutes to fully wake. The UFC broadcast team was beginning to worry, but Feng eventually came to. She still needed to be stretchered out and immediately brought to a nearby hospital.

Check out the finish below:

Fight fans were pretty concerned for Feng's well-being following the loss, but luckily the Chinese fighter was later cleared at the hospital. She suffered no fractures or injuries to her neck. The initial CT scan was negative, but the doctors will take a closer look over the next 24 hours. It was still a crushing loss for the women's strawweight prospect.
