Yuneisy Duben’s hype train was quickly derailed during her promotional debut at UFC Vegas 104.
The 6-0 prospect opened up the card that will see Marvin Vettori fight for the first time since 2023.
He’ll headline at the UFC APEX against fellow middleweight contender Roman Dolidze, who recently told Bloody Elbow what he learned from their first fight at UFC 286 in March 2023, which ended in a unanimous decision win for ‘The Italian Dream’.
Long before their rematch, Carli Judice picked up her first UFC win in sensational style against Duben.
Yuneisy Duben suffers head kick KO in UFC debut
The first fight of UFC Vegas 104 began with Duben and Judice throwing lots of kicks.
Judice appeared to be the slicker striker, and proved it by landing a beautiful question mark kick.
Duben tried to close the distance and incite a brawl – but her lights were shut off by a big shot.
Judice landed another head kick to drop her opponent before following up with several ground strikes.
The referee stepped in to wave off the flyweight scrap after just 100 seconds to give the 4-2 fighter her first taste of UFC victory.
Judice dropped a split decision to Gabriella Fernandes in her UFC debut after earning a contract with MMA’s premier league despite falling short against Ernesta Kareckaite when she appeared on Dana White‘s Contender Series in September 2023.
Yuneisy Duben’s DWCS series appearance revisited
Duben shocked the world when she first fought in front of the UFC boss last September.
As a monumental underdog, she knocked out Shannon Clark with a massive overhand right just 73 seconds into their Contenders Series clash.
Gasps and screams echoed around the same venue Duben made her UFC debut in on Saturday night.
A camera cut White, who was seen running around the UFC APEX repeatedly shouting ‘Holy s***!’
“Yuneisy Duben was a +1000 Underdog tonight and came in like a BEAST with one of the nastiest KO's in #DWCS History and the biggest upset in the show's history in 1:13 of the first round,” White tweeted at the time. “I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!
Naturally, he signed her to the UFC, but her career in MMA’s top league hasn’t gotten off to a good start.
