There was a truly insane knockout on the UFC Fight Night: Yan vs Figueiredo prelims this morning; with women's strawweight Ming Shi landing a flush head-kick that left her opponent needing a stretcher.

Those were some concerning scenes at UFC Macau, with strawweight hopeful Xiaocan Feng being taken out of the octagon on a stretcher before being sent straight to the local hospital.

Ming Shi scores viral head-kick knockout to win 'Road to UFC' season 3

UFC Macau featured three tournament finals for the 'Road to UFC season 3' series, the first of which ended in a devastating knockout – scored by Chinese strawweight prospect Ming 'Doctor' Shi.

30-year-old Shi, who still practices medicine and somehow manages to keep her MMA career a secret from her parents, scored one of the best head-kick knockouts of the whole year as the fight entered the third round.

"Slept her" screamed Michael Bisping from the commentary desk, with Laura Sanko providing the sound bite, "What a baby-faced assassin – oh my god, call a doctor!"

Victory means that Shi is now officially a member of the UFC roster and a future contender to keep an eye on, although she was understandably extremely emotional as she watched her opponent being stretchered out of the octagon.

"I feel really happy, but I actually worry about my opponent," she told Bisping as tears began to swell.

"I really hope she is okay, she's young and – sorry… That's what happened in the semi-finals, I had a lot of opportunities to knock out my opponent, but I think I have too much mercy – I'm not aggressive enough."

Champion Zhang Weili was watching on from cageside, and it’s safe to say that ‘Magnum’, like the rest of us watching, was in awe of The Doctor’s KO.

With the victory at UFC Macau, Shi improves her professional record to 17-5, with the headkick representing her eighth career finish to date – welcome to the UFC, The Doctor!
