After losing his bantamweight title at UFC 306 on September 14, Sean O’Malley has now turned his attention to the world of boxing and has called out Devin Haney for an MMA fight.

Sean O’Malley was budding into one of the UFC’s biggest stars whilst he was the king of the bantamweight division, and that even led him to flirt with the idea of a crossover boxing fight down the line.

Despite that, ‘Suga’ lost his 135lb title to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306, putting a big dent in his stardom and likely hindering any chance he had of a cross-promotion boxing fight.

Sean O’Malley calls out Devin Haney and offers him $1m to fight in MMA

After losing his title in disappointing fashion, the 29-year-old went on to claim that he in fact won the fight after rewatching it, claiming he won rounds one, three, and five.

As well as riling up the MMA fanbase with his ridiculous claim, the former champion also called out former boxing world champion, Devin Haney, after Haney tweeted on X saying: “O’Malley b*tchass lost.”

“Boxers are f*cking p*ssies dude, Devin Haney’s a b*tch, he’s such a b*tch. If Devin Haney really wants to talk sh*t, he really wants to fight, I’ll put $1m, me vs him, no time limit and we can fight,” O’Malley claimed on the recent episode of the Timbo and Suga Show.

O’Malley posed that the two fight in an MMA rules fight, however, went on to state that he would fight Haney in a boxing match but wouldn’t put up $1m of his own money in that situation.

“MMA rules, just a fight or we can do no rules so if you want to eye-poke me you can do a real f*cking fight. If you want to talk sh*t on Twitter we can really actually fight, or just don’t talk sh*t, one of the two.

“Either don’t talk sh*t or let’s actually fight. I would even box, I wouldn’t put $1m of my money up but I would box, just boxing rules to protect him, but he wouldn’t simply just fight me,” O’Malley continued.

Devin Haney responds to O’Malley’s $1m offer to fight him

With boxing being notoriously far higher paid than MMA, Haney responded to O’Malley with a simple message.

“I don’t fight for a million dollars like you… Let’s do a boxing fight & give us a shot at making real money!” Haney responded.

This past April, the former super lightweight champion took on Ryan Garcia in a huge fight in the boxing world. According to BoxingNews, the 25-year-old walked away with $35m for that fight alone, making O’Malley’s proposition make less sense.

Despite Haney offering to fight O’Malley in a real boxing fight to give them a chance to make huge amounts of money, the 29-year-old responded in typical ‘Suga’ fashion.

“Let’s just fight for fun then. I don’t need money to fight your dumb ass. You suck,” the former UFC champion finished.
