Scroggin Canned Despite Last-Minute Bailout

The UFC Vegas 100 fight card was a complete mess.
Among the many cancelations leading up to fight night was the welterweight banger between Nicolas Dalby and Elizeu Zaleski. Dalby got pulled after suffering a late injury and was replaced by Fighting Alliance Championship (FAC) phenom Zachary Scroggin, who at the time, was undefeated at 7-0 with five finishes.
Scroggin, 28, got smashed by Zaleski in just over a minute.
"Obviously not the post I wanted to share," Scroggin wrote on Instagram. "It's hard to explain the emotions I feel after this loss and I'm not sure I have fully processed them, so I'll keep it brief. I took a risk, and I failed. I have so much more to prove, and all I can do is take this as a learning experience and get back to work. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and shown me support this week. This isn't the end. I'll be back."
Scroggin was released by the promotion in the days following his loss.
No word yet on why matchmakers were not interested in giving Scroggin a second shot at UFC glory, which is typically afforded to combatants swooping in to compete on super short notice. Perhaps there were hard feelings about his weight miss, or execs simply did not like what they saw inside the cage on fight night.
Scroggin has yet to comments on the news of his release.
