Ten years ago today, Ronda Rousey delivered a moment that has gone down in MMA history, as she submitted Cat Zingano in just 14 seconds.
When ‘Rowdy’ faced off with her rival at UFC 184, on February 28, 2015, inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA, many expected ‘Alpha’ to provide a tough challenge.
However, that wasn’t the case.
As soon as the bell chimed, Zingano sprinted at Rousey, attempting to land a knee, but it was comfortably dealt with by the then-bantamweight champion, who dragged her to the ground and forced her to tap with an arm bar.

Ronda Rousey beat Cat Zingano with a move her mom taught her
While Ronda Rousey has cemented herself as one of the greatest female combat sports stars of all time, she may never have made it to the top, had she not had such a successful mother.
AnnMaria De Mars, was a decorated judoka practitioner, who was the first American to win a world judo championship, back in 1984.
Unsurprisingly, when she welcomed her daughter into the world, she strived to teach her to compete herself, often jokingly attacking her around the house, in order to prepare the prospect for battle.
It seems her bizarre coaching strategy worked, with Rousey scaling the mountain and winning the UFC title.
During the Cat Zingano fight, the warrior beautifully swiveled her hips, reversed her foe, and secured the perfect position to lock in the submission.
Of course, this is a move she learned from her mother. As per The Guardian, the combat sports star, said: "I know I have faster transitions than anyone because my mom taught me.”
It’s now been many years since the icon last fought, with Rousey recently announcing the birth of her second child.
However, the appetite among fans to see her compete again, remains rife.

However, with it now being almost a decade since her last MMA contest, time is running out.
