When Roman Dolidze and Marvin Vettori first met back in 2023, the two fought an extremely tough three rounds with the result being a relatively controversial one.
Roman Dolidze was on an impressive four fight win streak when he and Marvin Vettori first met at UFC 286 whereas ‘The Italian Dream’ was coming in off the back of a number one contender fight loss to Robert Whittaker.
Since then, Dolidze has gone on to fight three times, winning his last two against Kevin Holland and Anthony Smith, whereas Vettori has been inactive for two years following a loss to Jared Cannonier.

Ahead of their rematch at UFC Vegas 104 this Saturday, ‘The Caucasian’ revealed to Bloody Elbow what he learnt most from the Italian in their three round war.
“Marvin is a very durable fighter, he’s tough,” Dolidze told Bloody Elbow in an exclusive interview.
“I hope he will be in the best shape for our fight, but I think now I’m more prepared because I know exactly what he will do and how he moves and how he reacts but the main thing that I can point on is he’s a very durable guy, it’s hard to finish him,” he continued.
The 31-year-old is one of the only UFC veterans who can still sport the record of having never suffered a stoppage loss, despite having fought the likes of Israel Adesanya, Paulo Costa, and the aforementioned Whittaker.
“Deep inside, I still want to be the first to stop him, I will do everything for that,” the 36-year-old stated.

The middleweight division is in somewhat of a transitional period, with the top five of the division going through some change.
The current middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis, seems set to defend his 185lb title against Khamzat Chimaev next and Dolidze believes Chimaev could be ‘in trouble’.
Someone who may feel unfortunate to miss out on the title shot, is Nassourdine Imavov. Imavov scored a huge KO win over Adesanya last time out, putting himself right into title contention.
With Imavov likely having to wait in line for the culmination of Du Plessis vs Chimaev, Dolidze believes a rematch with Imavov could follow next, if he can successfully avenge his loss to Vettori this Saturday.
