The PFL Road to Dubai Champions Series: Nurmagomedov vs Hughes event kicked off with a brutal TKO – one that saw a front kick to the body breaking a fighter's arm.
Whilst the first fight of the night went to a rather boring decision, the second bout of the PFL card out in the United Arab Emirates certainly made up for it.
Just a few minutes into the opening round, sizable underdog Haider Khan threw a front kick up the middle – which was blocked by his opponent, but at a heavy price.
PFL star suffers gruesome injury as opponent's kick breaks forearm
Heading into the PFL Road to Dubai event, British middleweight prospect Haider 'Darth' Khan was a sizable underdog to Saudi Arabian Mostafa Abada Rashed Neda, with a whopping 79% of Tapology users picking against Khan.
The Manchester native, in what was his PFL debut, showed no signs of nerves as he opened the fight with some slick striking – yet it was the most unconvincing of shots that ended the fight.
With just under two minutes left of the very first round, Khan threw a seemingly standard front kick up the middle, aimed at Neda's body.
As the Saudi Arabian middleweight attempted to block the kick using his forearm, the limb would snap; with replays showing a rather gruesome bending of the forearm.
The referee was quick to wave off the bout, with that being the third KO/TKO win of Khan's carer.
British boxing legend Amir Khan stated from the ring that Haider is a 'beast' and that he heard the 'click' of Neda's arm breaking.
"Ey, listen, this guy's a beast, he's an animal – he just said that he heard the click, he heard the breaking of the bones. He looked in great shape, solid, wow."
