Donn Davis reveals his biggest disappointments from 2024 for PFL

Last year, the PFL had its fair share of epic moments, most notably with Francis Ngannou destroying Renan Ferreira with a truly magnificent display to win the promotion’s Super Fights heavyweight title.

However, along the way, the organization has also suffered setbacks, with Donn Davis and his employees having to work hard to overcome the hurdles in their way.

Rather than solely boasting about his company’s achievements, the entrepreneur has opened up about the obstacles he’s had to cross, and how it’s helped everyone learn and grow.

He posted an interesting list on LinkedIn, documenting the five negative things that PFL went through in 2024.

WOW: Randy Couture claims the UFC were disappointed that he beat one of their biggest stars

Davis wrote: “Most social media celebrates success, and I had great time last week doing that PFL post of triumph!

“This post is the opposite . . . All of us entrepreneurs took hard punches in 2024 and are still here to fight.

“Building any company has many issues and setbacks, which requires creativity and perseverance.

“5 HARD THINGS that happened to PFL in 2024:

“1) Several potential new investors wasted huge amount of our precious time, but we found the right ones.

“2) Big new advertiser agreed to deal and was in final contract, but new management stopped deal.

“3) Some Bellator star fighters complained on social media about not fighting enough, but PFL makes best overall decisions considering ALL our fighters.

“4) We are growing so fast with our new international leagues that costs in some regions are too high.

“5) Major new initiative and expansion is delayed a year by one of our partners, through no fault of PFL.

“Like all entrepreneurial companies, when faced with issues . . . PFL battled, navigated, solved, improved.

“PFL enters 2025 in our BEST POSITION EVER!

“Do NOT let others foil you, keep you down, stop you.

“To ALL entrepreneurs – you survived – declare victory!”

Randy Couture names PFL legend and former Bellator champion as the two best fighters of the modern era

With the PFL only just scratching the tip of the iceberg in terms of their wider ambitions, the future is certainly exciting.

However, while the organization is still growing, Randy Couture believes one of their biggest stars has earned his seat at MMA’s top table.

‘The Natural’ is convinced that the man in question and a former Bellator champion, deserve to be considered the greatest fighters of the modern era.
