Nate Diaz compares Islam Makhachev to an Ewok from Star Wars

Nate Diaz is no stranger to drama, with the Stockton brawler engaging in a ruckus at UFC 310 with Islam Makhachev and his team.

When the two squads met backstage, carnage ensued, with Diaz launching a bottle in the direction of his targets, before one was chucked back in return.

Interestingly, before the clash, Makhachev claims everything was fine, telling Demetrious Johnson on the flyweight star’s YouTube channel: "You know what's interesting, maybe five, six months ago, I meet Diaz in the elevator in the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, he goes to cross to me and says, 'Respect, respect, respect,' and just walked. But what changed now? When a lot of cameras come, they always people change."

Of course, Diaz refutes this claim, utilizing the world of sci-fi to talk trash his rival.

In an Instagram post, he raged:  “I didn't even know Islam was there. I don't even know which one he is. I was just there to corner my boy, and these ewoks threw a bottle at me, looking for clout. WTF did I do?

“And I never saw this guy in an elevator, wtf. I thought religious people didn't lie. Wtf is happening?”

While Diaz isn’t shying away from a verbal sparring match, for the time being, Makhachev has more important things to focus on.

In just a matter of days, the Dagestani will put his belt on the line, when he faces Arman Tsarukyan in an eagerly-anticipated rematch at UFC 311.

With his star power rising, the champion has been promoting the fight on various podcasts, recently sitting down with one of the best to ever do it.

During their chat, he invited the icon to come and visit his homeland.
