'My balls was hot!'… UFC Edmonton winner pays homage to Derrick Lewis after heavyweight's last-second withdrawal

UFC women’s flyweight contender Jasmine Jasudavicius reminded fans of one of Derrick Lewis’s viral moments after his last-second pull-out from UFC Edmonton.
Jasudavicius earned arguably the biggest win of her young UFC career against Ariane Lipski da Silva at UFC Edmonton on Saturday. After overwhelming her opponent with wrestling and ground strikes over the first two rounds, Jasudavicius secured the win by brabo choke in Round 3.
Jasudavicius’s win earned her a post-fight performance bonus. She’s won three consecutive fights and is climbing the women’s flyweight ladder.
After dismantling da Silva, Jasudavicius kicked off her post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier by nodding to Lewis. As Cormier began the interview, Jasudavicius was messing with her fight shorts, proclaiming ‘My balls was hot!’ to a chorus of laughs from the crowd.

Lewis hasn’t issued a statement since his scheduled fight with Jhonata Diniz was canceled due to a ‘non-weight-cutting medical issue’. His coach Bob Perez ensured fans that he was doing fine and was in good condition despite the undisclosed medical scare.
It was a disappointing medical setback for Lewis, who was looking to get on a winning streak with a victory over Diniz. He most recently defeated Rodrigo Nascimento in the UFC St. Louis main event earlier this year.
As for Jasudavicius, she’s won recent bouts over Fatima Kline and Priscila Cachoeira to move to 3-0 in 2024. She’s won five of her last six fights overall, including a win over Miranda Maverick at UFC 289.
Derrick Lewis’s health status remains a mystery after UFC Edmonton fight cancelation
Lewis, a longtime UFC fan favorite, dropped the iconic ‘My balls was hot’ line after knocking out Alexander Volkov at UFC 229. This was in response to Joe Rogan asking Lewis why he took his shorts off before the interview began.
The moment went viral instantly, and Lewis became a household name in the UFC heavyweight division. Along with his often-humorous post-fight interviews, Lewis is the UFC’s knockout king and a ferocious heavyweight.
Lewis has knocked out top heavyweights like Curtis Blaydes, Marcin Tybura, and Travis Browne during his UFC tenure. He fought for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 230, falling to Daniel Cormier by second-round submission.
Despite Lewis’s abrupt absence from UFC Edmonton, his presence was felt in Jasudavicius’s post-fight interview. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long for Lewis to return to the Octagon.
