KSI offers potential real reason Tommy Fury pulled out of Darren Till fight

KSI believes that it was cowardice, as opposed to concerns about the fight rules, that caused Tommy Fury to pull out of his boxing return.
The Love Island star and unbeaten professional boxer has been out of the ring for over a year after getting surgery on his hand. He had been due to return against Darren Till in his hometown as the main event of a Misfits Boxing show on January 18.
But he pulled out citing a press conference jibe that the ex-UFC star in what seemed to be a tongue-in-cheek moment that if he were losing the fight, he would just throw a head kick in order to save himself. Fury would claim that such a disregard for the rules would be dangerous for his boxing return.
Tommy Fury pulls out of Darren Till fight over press conference claim
During the launch press conference for Tommy Fury and Darren Till’s fight, the MMA star made a seemingly obvious joke that if the fight were going against him, he would turn to his cage roots. But Fury took issue, and announced earlier this month that the fight was off.
In actual fact, Till’s management ultimately confirmed that he had signed to give up his entire purse if he did end up breaking professional boxing rules. But that didn’t stop Fury, who now appears to have moved on to calling out Jake Paul and his brother Logan Paul.
“I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025,” he wrote on an Instagram story.
“For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is loosing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.
“I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp.
“We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner.”
KSI insists Tommy Fury was afraid of Darren Till
Fury infamously fought both KSI and Jake Paul last year, winning each time but failing to deliver on his promises of a vicious knokcout. The American actually managed to drop him, while many fans and experts argue he should have lost to his fellow Brit.
And KSI, who was willing to promote his return in efforts to begin building a rematch, believes that he is now a worthless commodity. Speaking in a YouTube video today, he told fans that the real reason he was pulling out was being scared after meeting his opponent at their press conference.
“Darren Till was never going to kick Tommy Fury,” he noted. “Tommy Fury is just a f***ing p**** and didn’t want to get in the ring with Darren because I think he got intimidated by him, simple as that, f*** Tommy Fury.
“He got dropped by Molly Mae [Hague, his ex-fiancee], he’s a deadbeat father and he should go f*** himself. I mean let’s be real, what’s the point of Tommy Fury? Like, without Molly Mae he’s nothing. He’s not even that great at boxing, he struggled with me!”
Darren Till hits back at Tommy Fury after fight cancellation
Till, one of the most renowned trash talkers in recent memories, did not stay silent about the fight cancellation. He shared a number of statements and videos, and insists that he will still compete on January 18 in a new headliner.
“Just so everyone knows and is clear Tommy Fury was the A side in this event,” Till told fans in one of his posts to X. “Which means he was getting more money and he gets to call the shots over me which is rightfully so.
“He's the boxer and he's the bigger name. So if this is the case he could not fight me and fight someone else. This is not happening; Tommy has pulled out and I'm still main eventing on that date. Now I'm the A side and I call the shots, opponent being found as we speak.
“I have always abided by the rules of fighting my whole life I was building the fight with Tommy and saying things I knew he would s*** himself from cos I know deep down he's not a real fighting man. And now it's come to fruition what I have said is true, he has pulled out and shown his true colours.
“See you all January 18th cos no matter what I'll be there as I have always been I always show up and always will for the fans whether you like me or not. Someone find John Fury for me cos he's not answering the phone probably butting young coaches again or punching glass.”
