Jon Jones was left shocked during the inaugural Dirty Boxing Championship event after his teammate was left sprawled on the ground.
Earlier this week, it was shockingly announced that UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones has become the co-owner of a new combat sports promotion, Dirty Boxing Championship.
The news came as Jon Jones‘ future in the UFC is still up in the air as his potential title unification fight against Tom Aspinall remains in negotiations with UFC boss Dana White still remaining confident it’ll happen.
And with that, the inaugural Dirty Boxing Championship event on Saturday night clashed with the UFC’s event in London, where Aspinall continued to mock Jones, bringing a rubber duck to the event.
Jon Jones’ teammate suffers horrific 40-second KO
Although Dirty Boxing Championship did hold an event this past November, with Yoel Romero scoring a big knockout, the event was held behind closed doors and not broadcast anywhere.
Saturday marked the promotion’s first live event, from the Hangar at Regatta Harbour in Miami Florida and the event was once again headlined by ‘The Solider of God’, Yoel Romero.
And with this being the first event since Jones’ co-ownership announcement, it included one of his longtime teammates and former UFC fighter, Maurice Greene, who took on Rakim Cleveland.
Unfortunately for ‘Bones’ and his team, his new combat venture got off to a disastrous start, when Greene was brutally knocked out within just 40 seconds.
Almost as soon as the fight began, Greene attempted a 1-2 down the pipe and seemed to do some damage to his own shoulder. After getting caught by a short countershot, he momentarily placed his hands on the mat.
Cleveland followed up with several more huge shots, sending Greene crashing through the ropes and seemingly sprawled out unconscious.
Immediately after the ref stepped in, Greene seemed to be shaking on the ground, with the commentators claiming he may have been trying to pop his shoulder back into place.
Despite that, once he made it back to his feet, Greene continued to shake and subsequently limped his way out of the ring with his health status unknown.

The scene that unfolded was a pretty disturbing one, especially considering a ringside doctor watched on and did little to assist Greene onto the stool.
Not only that but ‘The Crochet Boss’ coaches were nowhere to be seen after the fight as Greene stumbled his way out of the ring on his own.
UFC veteran, Charles Johnson took to X to question where Greene’s coaches were during the scene.
“Where is Crochet boss’ corners, help the f—— man my god. He’s clearly lost his equilibrium. Doctor just watching him struggle, help him to the stool,” the UFC flyweight said.
