Jon Jones was so confident of victory that he didn’t warm up properly before UFC 309.

The UFC heavyweight champion knocked out Stipe Miocic with a spinning back kick to the liver at Madison Square Garden in New York last November.

Donald Trump received a rousing reception during a UFC 309 walkout compared to prime Conor McGregor after being re-elected as the president of the United States just days before MMA’s premier promotion returned to his hometown.

Following his win, Jon Jones honored the American leader by replicating his famous ‘Trump Dance’.

Jon Jones teammate reveals bizarre UFC 309 warm up

Gordon Ryan is a third-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, who is often called the greatest no-gi grappler of all time, so naturally, he’s a part of the team MMA’s greatest fighter has put together.

On Saturday, he watched UFC London with Joe Rogan, Brendan Schaub, and Eddie Bravo for a podcast.

It was a card that was so poor that many fans were seen leaving midway through the main event between Leon Edwards and Sean Brady.

So, most of the time, Rogan’s ‘Fight Companion’ crew talked about anything and everything else.

Ryan, who was a part of Jones’ UFC 309 corner team, stole the show by telling a hilarious story about what happened backstage at the event.

“Good Jon Jones story that nobody knows,” he said.

“I was cornering him for his last fight against Stipe. We found out Trump was going to be there.

“Probably 20 minutes of that warm up was just him practicing the mechanics of how to do the Trump dance right. We like looked it up, YouTubed it, and he was practicing the Trump dance in the locker room getting ready to do it.

“The best is we were all for it. 'No, the hands gotta be a little bit higher'. We were coaching him through it.”

What’s next for Jon Jones?

Jon Jones is in talks for a UFC unification clash with interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall.

UFC boss Dana White insists the fight ‘is done’ but not done enough to make an official announcement.

Instead of talking about his next opponent, ‘Bones’ has recently announced a huge career move.

The 37-year-old has surprisingly become a co-owner of Mike Perry's combat sports promotion, Dirty Boxing Championship, which had it’s latest show on Saturday night

"I was hooked from the first show,” Jones told TMZ Sports.

“I believe this is going to be a powerhouse of combat sports.

“I'm proud to sign my name next to it.”
