This past Friday from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul took part in what will go down as one of the biggest boxing events of all time.
The professional boxing fight was covered in controversy from when it was initially announced, especially when the fight was postponed in June because of Mike Tyson‘s ongoing health concerns.
Despite that, the fight went ahead this past Saturday from the packed-out 70,000 AT&T Stadium and although it was lackluster for the large part, it broke all sorts of viewership records having streamed live on Netflix.
Terence Crawford slams Mike Tyson’s performance against Jake Paul
Since his emergence in the sport in 2020, Jake Paul has divided the boxing fanbase due to his eager and confident personality.
Making his huge 31-year age gap pay, ‘The Problem Child’ made relatively easy work of the 58-year-old former undisputed heavyweight champion, picking up another win in the ring.
However, both Paul and Tyson have received a large amount of criticism following the event, with a large majority of the fanbase labeling it as a ‘circus’.
One fighter who wasn’t best pleased with ‘Iron Mike’s’ performance, despite being 58 years old, was former multiple-weight world champion, Terence Crawford.
“I love Mike Tyson, but they gave him too much credit. He looked like trash, to train that long and only throw 97 punches the whole fight is crazy. I’m just glad he didn’t get hurt out there,” Crawford said on his social media.
Despite coming out of the fight defeated, Tyson claimed that he was a winner, revealing that in the lead-up to the fight, he had eight blood transfusions and was worried that at one point he might die.
Fans were ignited with hope during the lead-up to the fight as in the training footage posted by the 58-year-old and his team, he still looked fast and powerful and it seemed as though he would be able to cause Paul problems.

Jake Paul reacts to Artur Beterbiev’s callout for an undisputed title fight
Although Paul was hopeful of securing a cruiserweight title fight against Canelo Alvarez next, he has shockingly been called out by the current undisputed light heavyweight champion, Artur Beterbiev.
Beterbiev became the king of the light heavyweight division last month when he beat Dmitry Bivol in an undisputed title fight, winning via unanimous decision.
Despite a rematch against Bivol being expected, Beterbiev reacted to ‘The Problem Child’s’ performance over Tyson by offering him an undisputed title fight.
“What can you do in the ring against the current undisputed champion? Just know that I’m always open to any suggestions,” Beterbiev claimed on X.
Having seen the Russian’s offer on X, Paul responded: “Just seen this… Top 5 pound-for-pound fighter in the world calling me out. Hahaha. 4 years in and I run this sport,” Paul responded.
