Hasbulla was left stunned by Khamzat Chimaev’s sickening submission at UFC 308.
The 3ft 4in social media superstar sat cageside with UFC boss Dana White for a stacked card of fights at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night.
UFC 308 threw up some wild moments. From a double spinning back fist KO to Ilia Topuria becoming the first man to stop Max Holloway with strikes – but Hasbulla was most enthralled by Chimaev’s quick finish in his toughest test to date.
Robert Whittaker got his face crushed by Chimaev. The former middleweight champion was backed by some to upset ‘Borz’, but he tapped out when his teeth were caved in by a face crank in the first round.
Habulla’s was loving life at UFC 308
As Chimaev squeezed and forced the tap from his opponent, Hasbulla was seen peeking around the corner with his mouth wide open in shock at what he was witnessing.
A picture showing the Russian’s stunned reaction has since been shared on social media.
Footage of the finishing sequence shows Hasbulla looking up in amazement as Chimaev releases his grip and begins celebrating the biggest win of his career after previously edging past Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 in October 2023.
Chimaev called for a title shot during his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, but it’s unclear if he’ll get one as middleweight king Dricus du Plessis is expected to defend his belt in a rematch with Sean Strickland in early 2025.
It remains to be seen if Chimaev has done enough to skip the queue. Strickland broke his silence after UFC 308 by sending a menacing message to the 14-0 contender, who he insists must wait for his shot at UFC gold.
Robert Whittaker provides health update after UFC 308 loss
As soon as Whittaker tapped speculation began about him suffering a serious jaw injury.
Cormier added fuel to the fire by sharing a graphic image of Whittaker’s bashed-in teeth.
However, the Aussie fan favorite says that despite needing some dental work he’s fine.
"Thank you everyone for all the love and support,” Whittaker wrote on social media.
“It's a tough gig sometimes but that's the business. Big congratulations to Khamzat, he was the better man tonight and that's all there is to it. I felt great, everything was on point, and I was ready.
"My jaw is good, but my teeth were moved in. It's a good excuse to fix them properly now haha. I'm disappointed, but I come back better from every setback and every challenge, so this is no different."
