UFC fans have always been extremely hopeful of seeing Georges St-Pierre fight one last time in the Octagon, after retiring from the sport seemingly still near the top of his game.

Georges St-Pierre is widely regarded as one of the greatest combat sports athletes of all time and is considered the GOAT of the welterweight division.

The Canadian retired from combat back in 2019 after submitting Michael Bisping in the third round of their fight in 2017, becoming the middleweight champion of the world.

Georges St-Pierre turned down huge $7m offer to fight Tyron Woodley

After years of calls from fans for ‘Rush’ to return to the Octagon, St-Pierre has consistently teased potentially coming back for a jiu-jitsu competition.

Despite that, former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has recently revealed that both he and St-Pierre were offered an astonishing $7m to fight each other in MMA, by one of Woodley’s Middle Eastern investors.

“Georges St-Pierre never wanted to fight me. I’ve asked Georges to fight me several times. I had an opportunity to fight him last year and the year before,” Woodley recently told Plejmo.

“It was a five to seven-million-dollar purse and he said no. In MMA. My Middle East investor wanted the fight, seven million, but he said no. I would have beat his brains in,” Woodley continued.

Woodley became the UFC welterweight champion in 2016 and although he went on to defend the title four times, his exit from the promotion came quite unceremoniously after a disappointing four-fight losing streak.

Tyron Woodley provides a verdict on Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

With ‘The Chosen One’ being a former opponent of Jake Paul, he has been doing some work with Netflix ahead of the highly controversial professional boxing fight between ‘The Problem Child’ and Mike Tyson this coming Friday.

Paul and Tyson took part in an open workout this past Tuesday, giving the fans and media one last chance to see them train before their clash.

Woodley was beaten by the 27-year-old twice in a row, first over a close split decision but the second fight ending in a devastating knockout.

“Who do I want to win? I want them to get paid and make money. I ain’t got no horse in the race, I love Mike. I’m just excited to see him back and it seems like he’s ready to get after it, he looks scary, I wouldn’t even wanna hold pads for him,” Woodley told fans while signing memorabilia.
