Derrick Lewis got in big trouble for calling out Ronda Rousey in February 2017.
‘The Black Beast' had his most famous post-fight interview after he scored a come-from-behind knockout win over Alexander Volkov in October 2018.
Lewis celebrated by taking off his pants and running around the Octagon before bluntly telling Joe Rogan 'My balls were hot' when asked to explain his post-fight antics.
Footage of the iconic interview is reposted every time he fights, and it's often accompanied by the conversation he had with UFC interviewer Brian Stann 20 months prior.
Derrick Lewis makes inappropriate comment about Ronda Rousey
Derrick Lewis brutally knocked out Ronda Rousey's husband, Travis Browne, before jokingly turning his attention to the UFC Hall of Famer during a wild post-fight interview.
The 39-year-old made several disparaging remarks about Browne before changing the topic of conversation to Rousey, who he called out in a flirty manner.
Lewis said during his post-fight interview: "Forget that guy, I got much more heart than he has. Where is Ronda Rousey fine a** at?"
The comment made him a viral sensation. However, his wife wasn't a fan of Lewis making lustful remarks about another woman in front of a global audience.
A year later, Lewis revealed that his wife imposed a sex ban after the incident, although as always, the UFC fan favorite was clearly playing the joker during his pre-fight interview.
He told TMZ in 2018: "My wife, she's mad, she ain't give me a** ever since I mentioned [Rousey] in that last interview.
"I have to get this win, so I can buy her something nice and hopefully I'll get some a** next week."
Lewis got the win and seemed to have learned his lesson. Since then, he's taken his pants off a couple more times, but he's never mentioned Rousey's name in the Octagon.
Derrick Lewis revisits the Ronda Rousey moment five years later
In 2022, during an interview with Daniel Cormier, Lewis risked annoying his wife again by making more comments about Rousey, who hasn't acknowledged his existence since the famous call-out.
'DC' casually revealed that he'd recently spoken with Rousey, and Lewis saw that as his opportunity to revisit his imaginary relationship with the former UFC bantamweight champion.
Cormier burst into laughter when Lewis enquired: "Did she ask about me? I'm just saying, off record."
The former dual-weight UFC champion replied: "There's three cameras, it's not off record. She didn't ask about you."
Lewis responded: "She didn't? It's cool, you know, I'm married anyway."
Hopefully, that conversation brought an end to Lewis' pursuit of Rousey.
Since then, he's been fully focused on getting his MMA career back on track.
Lewis lost four of five fights before knocking out Rodrigo Nascimento in May.
He'll look to make it two in a row at UFC Edmonton where new rules will be introduced on Saturday night.
Lewis was originally scheduled to face Alexander Romanov. However, they were both given new opponents and Lewis was matched up with 8-0 prospect Jhonata Diniz instead.
A win will push Lewis back toward the heavyweight top 10, but a defeat could result in the wacky American laying down his gloves and walking away from MMA for good.
