Dana White gave an interesting response when asked what he thought about Wanderlei Silva making a huge return to MMA in Global Fight League.

In his esteemed career, the Brazilian cemented his place as a legend of the sport, winning the Pride world championship as well as producing an array of tremendous performances in the UFC.

While the UFC has proven itself as the biggest mixed martial arts promotion on the planet, there are a plethora of other companies involved in the game with a passion for delivering terrific events.

One of the organizations keen to make a massive splash in the sport is Global Fight League, with the brand recently announcing that they’ve signed a plethora of heavy hitters for 2025.

It has been revealed that an array of icons have signed on the dotted line to fight in the promotion.

But the name that stands out the most is none other than Wanderlei Silva.

When asked about the emergence of the promotion at the UFC Tampa post-fight press conference, Dana White, said: “I welcome everybody. Listen, there’s no barrier to entry when it comes to this sport. I hear a lot of people saying that we ‘don’t do this right’ or we ‘don’t do that right’. Come on in everybody, dive in.”

Discussing Silva specifically, he added: “Fascinating. I’ll believe it when I see it.”

It appears the GFL is excited to hit the ground running, taking the internet by storm by announcing a total of eight former UFC champions.

The list is as follows:

Luke Rockhold, Tyron Woodley, Fabricio Werdum, Anthony Pettis, Benson Henderson, Frank Mir, Junior dos Santos and Andrei Arlovski.
