Conor McGregor reacts to Dana White claiming 2025 fight will be bigger than his clash with Khabib Nurmagomedov

Conor McGregor believes Dana White got a bit carried away after UFC 309.
The MMA mogul excitedly talked up a heavyweight unification fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall after 'Bones' knocked out Stipe Miocic at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday night.
Dana White believes the heavyweight clash could be the biggest fight in the UFC's 31-year history.
That's a tag Conor McGregor currently holds after selling 2.4 million pay-per-views for a fight with long-time rival Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018.
Dana White talks up Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall
During a UFC 309 post-fight press conference, White raved about Jon Jones and a potential scrap with Tom Aspinall, who has been relentlessly calling him out all year.
Despite the fact Jones has repeatedly distanced himself from the matchup, his boss is confident that it will go ahead and break records in 2025.
"It would be the biggest heavyweight fight in UFC history, by a long shot,” White said. "It’s going to be the biggest heavyweight fight ever.
"And it’ll probably be the biggest fight we’ve ever done.”
Footage of White's comments went viral on social media. McGregor shared his thoughts before quickly deleting them, as he so often does on X – formerly known as Twitter.
"Now, now," he wrote alongside a video of White's comments about Jones vs Aspinall.
When will Conor McGregor fight again?
When Conor McGregor broke his leg in July 2021, no one thought we'd see Mike Tyson fight again before him – but that's exactly what happened on Friday night when the boxing legend went eight rounds with Jake Paul.
Unfortunately, the 36-year-old remains sidelined and could do for the foreseeable future after White's recent claim that he won't return until the end of 2025.
White said: “He’s going to fight in 2025, probably at the end of the year, if it is earlier that is good for all of us.”
McGregor is yet to react to White's latest comments about his fighting future, but he won't be happy after recently telling BloodyElbow.com that he plans to return to the Octagon in Saudi Arabia on February 1.
Fans continue to impatiently wait for an official update on McGregor's overdue comeback bout, and only time will tell if he'll ever fight again.
