Beneil Dariush may have found a new opponent after his UFC 311 distaster.

The long-time lightweight contender was supposed to fight Renato Moicano at the Intuit Dome in California on Saturday night – but he was taken off the card after an injury-induced reshuffle.

Arman Tsarukyan was forced out off his bout with lightweight champion Islam Makhachev before Moicano was elevated into the main event on 36 hours notice.

Beneil Dariush was left without an opponent, but Dana White promised to ‘take care’ of him.

Grant Dawson calls out Beneil Dariush

Grant Dawson put on a domiant display as outpointed Carlos Diego Ferreira at UFC 311.

The 23-2-1 lightweight contender picked up unaminous 30-27 scorecards from the cageside judges before using his post-fight mic time to make a call out.

“I feel really bad for Beneil Dariush,” Dawson said.

“I know that he didn’t get to fight tonight against a really good opponent, in my teammate, Moicano.

“I will step in and I will fight Beneil Dariush. He says he wants to fight in April, there’s a Miami card in April.

“That’s the card I want. Beneil Dariush is the fight I want. I really hope to get that next.”

Beneil Dariush reveals generous UFC gesture

After being pulled from UFC 311, Dariush has revealed that the promotion paid him both his show and win money to soften the blow.

"It's excellent, I can't complain, they're giving me show and win money so you know, a lot of people are like, 'I hope they take care of you', they are I appreciate Dana and the UFC," Dariush explained.

Following the fallout, Dariush claims he has been promised a 'good fight' next and he has outlined a few potential opponents he would like to share the Octagon with.

He added: “I would like to ideally, if I'm super quick it would be March.

“I think ideally I would fight in April, someone ranked ahead of me.

“When I look at the rankings it goes Dustin Poirier, Max Holloway, and Michael Chandler.”

Dawson isn’t quite on the level of those guys, but he’s game and ready to go in a few months time.

Watch this space as he could end up fighting Dariush if those ranked closest to him are unavailable.
