Jake Paul and Conor McGregor exchanged barbs in newly-released footage of their run-in at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.

Conor McGregor‘s run-in with Logan and Jake Paul in Washington D.C. continues to make waves on social media. After years of banter between the parties online, McGregor and the Pauls came face-to-face while attending Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration last week.

McGregor nearly broke the internet when he hinted that he was in ‘preliminary agreements’ to face Logan in a boxing match in India. But as of this writing, nothing has been announced nor booked, and the UFC is allegedly disinterested in allowing McGregor to box Logan.

In the meantime, tensions continue to rise between McGregor and the Pauls, particularly after their viral encounters. While the exchanges between McGregor and the Pauls en route to the inauguration were mostly cordial, plenty of trash talk flooded the air between all sides.

Initially, it appeared McGregor had Logan as his primary trash talk target while sharing transportation to the inauguration. But in newly-released footage, he and Jake had their moments too.

New footage shows Jake Paul accusing Conor McGregor of targeting ‘easier fight’ with brother

In the viral footage below, McGregor and Jake traded verbal jabs surrounding a potential fight. Jake repeatedly called out McGregor earlier in his boxing career to no avail, and Jake questioned McGregor’s insistence on facing Logan instead of him.

Jake pointed to his recent success against southpaws as a potential reason why McGregor isn’t as keen on facing him as he is in battling Logan. McGregor, who hasn’t fought in the UFC in nearly four full years, mocked Jake’s showings against fellow UFC greats Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz.

Once McGregor and the Pauls went their separate ways as they arrived at the venue, their separation didn’t quell tensions. McGregor and Logan had an intense verbal faceoff before both sides cooled off.

In a recent tweet, Jake threw a veiled shot at McGregor as he teased his upcoming return to the boxing ring against a to-be-announced opponent. Tommy Fury and boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. are two potential fits for his return opponent.

McGregor made his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017, losing by late-round TKO. He’s repeatedly teased returns to the boxing ring, most notably against Mayweather’s former rival, Manny Pacquiao, before agreeing to face Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.

War of words continues between Conor McGregor and the Pauls

Jake most recently defeated heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson in November for his fifth consecutive victory. His lone career defeat came against Fury in 2023, losing by split decision.

McGregor hasn’t competed in combat sports since a loss to Poirier at UFC 264 in which he suffered a devastating leg injury. He was slated to headline UFC 303 last June against Michael Chandler before withdrawing on short notice due to injury.

As he plots a potential Octagon comeback, McGregor is becoming increasingly interested in facing some of the most polarizing personalities in boxing, including the Paul brothers. While he remains under contract with the UFC, it could be a matter of time until McGregor entertains outside options.
