Tactical Move

Won twice in a row in January and March before bumping into the improving and subsequent winner Spillane’s Tower.

That’s great form going into this and Tactical Move has that Grade 1 look and appeal as opposed to some in this field that seem a bit too short in the prices.

Trainer Willie Mullins and jockey Paul Townend have seen two winners already this week at Punchestown Festival for the owner Mrs J Donnelly, with Dancing City and Daddy Long Legs.

Brides Hill

A really interesting mare by Dylan Thomas, who beat La Renomee with ease in listed company at Huntingdon in January and is often waited with for a few weeks before being seen again to ensure she’s fresh and ready.

She’s made it three wins from three and gets a handy mark to work with against Allegorie De Vassy, who hasn’t quite been as dominant over fences as once hoped.

She was beaten comfortably by Limerick Lace, Dinoblue and just beaten by Marsh Wren in tough conditions at Cheltenham Festival.

She’s beaten Brides Hill before, quite comfortably in fact at Thurles in January 2023.

But she’s come on for that very well since, winning four times and proving her dominance over Sacre Coeur and La Renommee.

The way she cruised into contention for that suggests there’s much more in the tank for this.

State Man

State Man might be 1/4 but Willie Mullins has this horse in great condition, cruising to victory at Cheltenham Festival’s Champion Hurdle, beating Irish Point by just over a length and that wasn’t even his best run.

Won this last year by three lengths and has won 11 from 14 races in his career, straightforward winner who has only been beaten by Constitution Hill since 2022.

Ballyburn

It’s not quite been the dominant performances from a few odds-on favourites this week. But Ballyburn is a different sort, with the way he won at Cheltenham Festival he’s now just 2/7 to win this.

You can boost that a touch with enhancing the odds on betting on him to finish by five lengths or more.

Ballyburn has achieved a rating far superior to all his rivals in this and looks set to continue his unbeaten run.

He won to Jimmy Du Seuil in the Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle by 13 lengths and that was comfortable.

Many A Star

Saffie Osborne is looking to have a great 2024 campaign with a string of winners already.

In the last two weeks she has a 24 strike rate alongside her father and trainer’s 25% over the last fortnight.

Many A Star won with plenty in hand at Kempton back in April and was a picture in the paddock before hand as a big scopey gelding with plenty of power.

He was close to Leap Abroad on his next run under David Egan at Leicester on soft ground and has won here before which is always handy on what is a tough course to win at.

It’s heavy going at Goodwood this afternoon and Many A Star should cope with that well.

Endless Victory

Forged on really well to grab victory here last time out over course and distance and looks like another typical winner for the Charlie Appleby and Godolphin duo under William Buick.

They all have an incredible strike rate here and he’s the only one with both a course win and a distance win to his name already.

Can certainly extend his unbeaten streak here.

Bold Style and Boiling Point

These two were among the front two in the betting at Newmarket just over a couple of weeks ago when beaten by Ten Bob Tony.

There was only a length and a quarter in it though and they’re set to go for the 1-2 this time, with that run potentially benefitting for the next contest.

Boiling Point looks like taking this up given his form line with City Of Troy and Alyanaabi, so should improve further but he was only a neck in front of Bold Style last time out, and they’re always difficult to side against.
