Inside Max Homa's shock switch to Cobra Puma Golf equipment

Max Homa has made the first bombshell equipment statement of 2025, with the announcement of his move to Cobra Puma Golf ahead of the PGA Tour’s season-opener: The Sentry.
Sporting a new on-course look to start the new year, the American has cut ties with a longstanding Titleist/Footjoy partnership stretching back to his time at college.
The 34-year-old’s caddy will now carry a Cobra Golf bag and Homa hopes the switch can be the difference in his hunt for a maiden Major victory following a third place at the Masters last year.
While it’s not unusual to see golfers opt for a change of equipment manufacturer, the timing and close proximity to the start of the new season has raised eyebrows.
The nine-time Tour winner had been pictured earlier in the week playing the Sentry Pro-Am event in the Aloha State with Cobra-branded equipment.
However, he was still endorsed on Titleist’s website as of Wednesday morning, suggesting it was a late move to be the new face of Cobra Puma Golf.
How will Max Homa’s bag look on the PGA Tour this season?
The axing of his longstanding partnership with Titleist and Footjoy has its benefits to the Major hopeful, providing him flexibility in his golf bag set-up.
His new deal means that he will be able to mix his equipment, allowing him to keep his ever-dependable Scotty Cameron Phantom 5.5 Mallet putter in the bag.
The social media favourite has been pictured practising with the same Cobra DS-ADAPT LS Driver that fellow countryman Rickie Fowler wasted no time getting into his bag.
With the driver being branded as a part of his bag on the Cobra website, it can be expected that it will be a permanent fixture this season.

The mix ‘n’ match style of the collaboration suggests that the 2023 Ryder Cup star will have an interesting iron set.
The former world number five will carry a Cobra Limit3D 4-iron and a King CB 5-iron, with the rest of his set comprising a custom 6-PW set of prototype 3D-printed irons that will have been sculpted meticulously to match the needs of his game.
Homa was complimentary of Cobra’s ability to utilise 3D printing to make fine-tuned equipment, which likely would have been a large factor in his decision to switch brands.
"I am super excited to join the Cobra Puma Golf team. Gear that's on the cutting edge of technology and the most comfortable shoes in the game are a great combination for any player,” he stated in a press release following the news.
“The Cobra Puma Golf brands are undoubtedly a natural fit for my game, style, and personality and I'm looking forward to a long-term relationship that will be fun and exciting for years to come.
“What the Cobra team was able to do with my personal set of 3D-printed irons absolutely blew my mind.”
In addition to his new-look playing equipment, Puma has announced that he will wear the new 2025 Puma Ignite Elevate 2 Tour golf shoe as he looks to make waves and win silverware on the PGA Tour this season.
