LPGA Tour star Charley Hull withdraws from Aramco Team Series in London due to injury

Charley Hull has pulled out of the Aramco Team Series in London after sustaining an injury mid-round.

Charley Hull, one of the biggest stars of the LPGA Tour, had to withdraw from the Aramco Team Series in London on Wednesday morning.

Hull played only six holes in the Ladies European Tour event and then pulled out of the tournament due to an injury. The Englishwoman consulted with a physiotherapist, who recommended that she stop playing. The extent of the injury is unknown at this point.

At last week's Dow Championship, in which she competed with her best friend Georgia Hall, Hull gave zero indication that she had any ailments. The all-English duo tied for fifth, playing well in the two-woman team event in Michigan.

But now, three days later, Hull saw her momentum stalled in London, not for good reason. Her appearance at next week's Amundi Evian Championship, the fourth major of the LPGA season in France, is now in jeopardy. Hull has made the cut in each of the three majors this season, with her best finish coming at Sahalee in Washington, where she tied for 16th at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

Last season, Hull missed the cut at the Amundi Evian Championship, a mere weeks after tying for second at the U.S. Women's Open at Pebble Beach. And yet, it looks as if she will not have a chance to redeem herself along the shores of Lake Geneva next week.

Hopefully, this injury is more cautionary than reactionary.
