Eddie Hearn was furious with Devin Haney after he pleaded for tickets for Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois.

Hearn previously promoted former undisputed champion Haney, and the pair attended Anthony Joshua’s stunning fifth round KO defeat to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium.

Prior to proceedings starting, Haney had accused the Brentwood native of being ‘fake’ after failing to secure him a ringside seat at the event.

After the event had concluded, British welterweight Conor Benn posted footage on social media of Haney and Hearn going at it in a furious and heated exchange.

Matchroom Boxing kingpin Hearn has now opened up on the altercation, confirming it was he who chose to confront his former charge.

"It was heated," Hearn told Boxing News. "Bear in mind the relationship I've got with Devin, bear in mind everything we've been through, I could not believe he would put that out on social media.

"I received a message from him at 6am on the day of the fight saying 'I need tickets for Joshua'. He messaged 24 hours before saying 'yo' but I had so much going on I didn't reply.

"So then I'm sitting there at the show and he's like 'Wow, Eddie Hearn didn't get me tickets, he's so two-faced'. So I just replied saying 'you're an arrogant f***ing p***k'.

“I pulled him at the show and said 'what do you think you're doing?' He said 'hey hey', and I said 'no, not hey hey, what are you doing?'

"I said: 'one, you couldn't be more arrogant, two, why aren't you messaging me asking if I'm sure I can't sort something out? Instead you put a tweet out? You're like a little kid'.

"I said: 'you used to be a good kid you did, now I don't like this arrogance I'm seeing from you. Don't ever do that again'.

“He said that I'd said something about him in the media but I was just answering a question.

"I don't represent him, so if I get asked about Devin Haney I'm going to tell you what I think. I've never said anything disrespectful but I said 'you have, so don't ever disrespect me again'.

"I had the hump about it. I just told him straight."

It appears Haney and Hearn decided to settle their beef, which appears to have come to the fore in recent weeks.

The American star was represented by Hearn at his most recent outing against Ryan Garcia, a defeat which was later overturned after his rival failed two drugs tests.

It was expected he would face Sandor Martin afterwards, but Matchroom Boxing failed to submit a bid and Top Rank earned the rights to the event.

This angered Haney and he suggested he would take a break from boxing, clearly agitated that the promoter decided not to enter proceedings.

His future is currently unclear, but his most recent call-out came in the shape of UFC star Sean O’Malley.

He offered to stage a crossover boxing clash with the former UFC champion, insisting there could be a financial incentive if they do meet.

Haney has also teased a link up with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh, which could see him land on a super card in the next few months.
