WATCH: Three Title Changes Take Place At NXT: New Year's Evil

Triple threat. There are all kinds of titles and championships under the WWE banner and it can be a huge moment when a wrestler wins one of them. The higher up the level the title, the more important the win can be for the wrestler, but also the fans. In addition, the more championships that change in a night, the bigger it is for a fan, which was certainly the situation this week.

There were three title changes this week on NXT’s New Year’s Evil special. First, Giulia defeated Roxanne Perez to win the Women’s Title. This was a rematch from November when Perez won thanks to interference from Cora Jade. Second, Lexis King defeated Charlie Dempsey to win the Heritage Cup. This came after King defeated Dempsey via DQ last month, which resulted in the Cup being returned to Dempsey. Finally, Oba Femi won the NXT Title defeating champion Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe in a triple threat.

Opinion: You do not see that many title changes taking place in one night very often but it worked well here. What mattered the most is the fact that the show felt eventful and really shook things up on the way into the new year. It makes you wonder what is going to happen the next time NXT does something like this, but it should make for quite the special night.
