Tony Khan wants to bring AEW to Mexico in the near future.
The promotion has been travelling outside the US more and more in recent years. Multiple shows have been run in Canada, while two All In events have come from Wembley Stadium in London, England.
Tony Khan also announced that AEW Grand Slam 2025 is taking place in Australi. It comes as the promotion becomes a more international outfit. He clearly isn’t done as plans for a show in Mexico are revealed.
In conversation with Case Lowe of Q101 Chicago, Tony Khan spoke about his plans to run an AEW show in Mexico. The AEW boss said that he can’t wait to bring his show to Mexico, revealing he wants to work with CMLL and run Arena Mexico.
"I can't wait, eventually, to bring AEW for the first time ever to Mexico.” Tony Khan said"I have never said so but I will say, sooner or later, it absolutely has to happen. If I could go anywhere in Mexico and work with anyone in Mexico I would love to go to Arena Mexico and work with CMLL and bring AEW there for the first time ever. It would be amazing. I think Salvador would be open to having us there. If he would have us, it would be an honor to go to Arena Mexico and bring AEW there sometime." Tony Khan added.
