On Hold: Cody Rhodes Makes Not So Great Announcement About His Current Status

On the mend. Injuries are a regular thing in wrestling and unfortunately there is little that can be done to prevent them. Occasionally you will see someone get hurt and everything is obvious, but there are other times when you might not realize what is going on. To make things even more complicated, there is always the chance that an injury might not be legitimate despite having quite the impact.

This week on SmackDown, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes announced that he was currently not medically cleared for action following an attack at Kevin Owens last month at Saturday Night’s Main Event. This is seen as a storyline, as Rhodes has been wrestling at live events and got in a fight with Owens on this week’s SmackDown. Rhodes is scheduled to defend his title against Owens in a ladder match at the Royal Rumble.

Opinion: That’s something that makes sense as the fans are going to care about the idea of not being able to see Rhodes in the ring for a good while. Rhodes is as beloved of a star as there is in wrestling these days and it is easy to see how much they care about him. It seems to be little more than a storyline element, but at the same time, the fans are going to care either way and that is the right idea.
