Mickie James didn't sugarcoat anything on the March 20 episode of WWE LFG—and her target this time was women wrestling in what she called "jazzed up lingerie."

While speaking directly to Zena Sterling after her match, Mickie took a moment to acknowledge the shift in her appearance. "I like your new gear," she told Zena. "I lived during the Diva era, and we fought very, very hard to not have to wrestle in lingerie anymore."

Then she got blunt. "Since because I am a female, I can speak on this. It's very frustrating when women go out there and wrestle and all I see is their ass. I can't look past that—it's all I see. It's very distracting."

Mickie wasn't trying to tear anyone down—her issue was with the image some women present when trying to be taken seriously. "You want to be taken seriously as a wrestler, but you are pretty much wrestling in jazzed-up lingerie," she said. "And that's my opinion. And that's coming from someone who's had their ass on TV a lot."

The WWE legend's comments instantly sparked debate, but there's no denying she gave Zena her flowers for stepping away from the flash and leaning into a more traditional, athletic look.

Whether you agree or not, Mickie made her stance crystal clear—substance should come before sex appeal.
