Kay Adams: Wrestling Fans Are The Most Welcoming Sports Fanbase I've Experienced

Kay Adams thinks wrestling fans are more welcoming than fans of any other sport today.
The sportscaster has hosted her own daily NFL sports show, Up & Adams, since leaving the NFL Network in 2022. She was in the crowd on Monday for Raw’s debut on Netflix, dipping her toe in the waters of wrestling for the very first time.
Kay Adams was joined by former NFL player and current TNA star AJ Francis on Up & Adams. They spoke about Raw’s premiere on Netflix and her experience attending the event in Los Angeles.
She called wrestling fans the most welcoming fanbase in all of sports. She compared it to sports like football and boxing, where Kay Adams felt like people were inviting her to enjoy herself more than any other.
“I have to say, wrestling fans are the most welcoming sports fanbase I've ever experienced. I've worked in other areas, and this isn't to put anyone else down, but I've dabbled in boxing and stuff like that. Even on Twitter, it's not like 'this idiot.' With wrestling fans, they're just like, 'Welcome, yes, enjoy, love this!'”
AJ Francis talked about how wrestling fans appreciate people trying to enjoy the show, to which Kay Adams agreed.
“It was such a great vibe. Sometimes, in these situations, you aren't always welcome, but I felt so embraced by the wrestling community and the wrestling-loving community.
“I just want to give a shoutout to everyone—it's such a beautiful thing. That, more than anything, sucked me in. Nobody made me feel stupid for not knowing everything; instead, everyone was just excited. It's rare these days to be part of something that isn't divisive.”
Clearly, Kay Adams hasn’t been on wrestling Twitter when AEW Dynamite’s weekly ratings are announced.
