Spurs Tried To Hire Nico Harrison Away From Nike Multiple Times

The San Antonio Spurs attempted to hire Nico Harrison away from Nike three separate times before he eventually was hired by the Dallas Mavericks in 2021. The Mavericks hired Harrison to replace Donnie Nelson in June 2021 as general manager and is now president of basketball operations.

Harrison's stature with the Mavericks increased before and after Mark Cuban's majority sale of the franchise to the Adelson/Dumont families.

Brian Wright was promoted by the Spurs to general manager in July 2019.
