The American League Divisional Series began yesterday.

It's Sunday once again, and you know what that means — it's time for our weekly social media roundup! With the regular season ending last Sunday and the American League Divisional Series getting underway last night, the Yankees had a fairly free week as they waited to see whether they would be matching up with the Kansas City Royals or Baltimore Orioles. Perhaps not surprising, though, their social media accounts were fairly bare, as they had something more important on their minds: the chase for a hunk of metal.

Martian Crochet

Earlier this week, Yankees rookie outfielder Jasson Domínguez posted this crocheted alien on his Instagram story. Look how adorable it is!

Final week photo dump

Marcus Stroman is probably the member of the Yankees who is most active on social media, so it should come to nobody's surprise that he posted a photo dump from the final week of the regular season that included some shots of the team celebrating their AL East title.

Farewell from YES

One of the worst parts of the postseason is that local broadcast teams don't get a chance to even simulcast any of the playoffs, ending the season for countless broadcasters, reporters, and behind-the-scenes guys when the regular season comes to a close. Because of this, you'll see many broadcasters, such as the Yankees' own Michael Kay, post their end-of-season tweets/Instagram posts on the last day of the regular season, not when their team is eliminated.

Although they're not calling the games, however, the YES Network does continue some pre- and post-game coverage of the Yankees' postseason run, so some of the studio team is still ready to go.

The Yankees' Social Media Hype Videos

A few times a year, the Yankees social media team posts a hype video on their Twitter: the first day of spring training, Opening Day, and the start of a postseason round. In case you missed it, here are the hype videos the Yankees posted for the ALDS this week.

CC looks back

Yesterday, former Yankees ace and future Hall of Famer CC Sabathia posted on his Twitter to celebrate nine years of sobriety. Congratulations on the accomplishment, CC!
