CC Sabathia and Ichiro Suzuki head to Cooperstown.

It's Sunday once more, and you know what that means — it's time for our weekly social media roundup! It was Hall of Fame week in the Yankees Universe, with a pair of former Yankees, CC Sabathia and Ichiro Suzuki, earning enshrinement in Cooperstown on their first ballot alongside closer Billy Wagner, who made it on his 10th ballot. How did the baseball world respond to this news (and what else happened in the meantime)? Let's find out!

Some Words from CC

Our lead story is, of course, fan favorite CC Sabathia receiving the call that he will be inducted into the Hall this summer.

Following the announcement, the lefty took to social media to express his gratitude — referencing one of his most iconic Yankees moments in the process.

Over the rest of the week, Sabathia — along with Ichiro and Billy Wagner — headed to Cooperstown for the first round of the Hall of Fame festivities.

Congratulations to Sabathia and Ichiro

Many of Sabathia's and Ichiro's former teammates took to social media to congratulate them for the accomplishment. Here are as many as I could find:

Some News from Ruocco

While compiling the congratulations for Sabathia and Ichiro, I stumbled upon some news posted by YES Network broadcaster Ryan Ruocco earlier this month:

Congratulations to him and his family!

A-Rod A-Teacher?

Imagine strolling up to class to find that your instructor used to play third base for the New York Yankees. Well, for some graduate students at Stanford this January — and apparently for the last several years — that was their reality.

Get well soon, Karim

Karim García, who played 54 games for the Yankees across the 2002 and 2003 seasons and drew quite a bit of attention during the latter year's ALCS against Boston, announced this week that he suffered a stroke. We wish him the best in his recovery.

International Amateur Signings

This week, the Yankees began to officially sign this year's international amateur class, with 16-year-old shortstop Manny (or possibly Mani) Cedeño signing on the dotted line — and taking to Instagram to celebrate it.

The new bullpen catcher

Peter Serruto, a native of Millburn, NJ, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 2018 but opted to go to college at Rutgers University instead. He then signed with the New York Yankees as an undrafted free agent and spent a couple years in the organization before announcing his retirement from baseball this week. The 24-year-old took to Instagram to reveal that he has accepted a job with the Yankees as a bullpen catcher.
