Three Yankees series losses in a row not causing panic; Soto, Judge keep going strong in All-Star vote; scouts and executives weigh in on Yanks' deadline needs; ESPN hands out midseason awards

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: The Yankees have dropped three straight series against the Boston Red Sox, the Baltimore Orioles and the Atlanta Braves. They haven't looked so sharp in those games, but even despite the negative stretch, their lead in the AL East remains at two games because the Baltimore Orioles are also slumping.

After losing Sunday's finale against the Braves, southpaw Nestor Cortes insists that "nobody is panicking."

"Nobody is hanging their heads; nobody is panicking in here (...) It's just a rough patch that in 162 games you're going to go through. We've just got to figure out how to get out of it," he stated.

MLB.com | Manny Randhawa: With Phase 1 of the All-Star Game voting process close to coming to an end, it's time to take a look at how some Yankees are doing. Captain Aaron Judge leads all players with 2,375,199 votes, and Bryce Harper currently paces the National League with 2,037,523. Both would earn automatic entry to the Midsummer Classic as each league's top vote-getters.

Harper isn't second overall in the voting list, though: that place belongs to Juan Soto, with 2,136,383. Anthony Volpe and Jose Trevino are the third-ranked shortstop and catcher, respectively, and Alex Verdugo is seventh among outfielders, just behind Colton Cowser for the qualifying Top 6 for Phase 2. Additionally, Anthony Rizzo is fourth among first basemen, Oswaldo Cabrera is fourth among third baseman, and the now-injured Giancarlo Stanton is the second-ranked DH — barely ahead of David Fry.

SNY | John Harper: What will the Yankees and Mets do at the deadline? As the teams are set to start another edition of the Subway Series, scouts and executives weighed in on their needs before the trade period ends. The bullpen was a popular topic on the Yanks, as scouts and executives say they need more "swing and miss." Catcher and corner infielder were other positions mentioned in the analysis.

ESPN | Bradford Doolittle: ESPN handed their midseason awards, and as you can probably expect, several Yankees were involved. Judge was named the "Best Half-Season Player," with Juan Soto coming in at third place in the AL MVP race. The Yankees were named the best team, and Luis Gil the best rookie. The righty's omission from the AL Cy Young list was notable, though.
