Aaron Boone may be back for 2025, but no contract extension talks yet; an in depth rundown of Roki Sasaki; Yankees one of the teams kicking the tires on Christian Walker; assistant pitching coach to join Mets' staff.
MLB Trade Rumors | Steve Adams: While we know that Aaron Boone will be back at the helm as the Yankees' manger in 2025 after the team picked up his option, there's still nothing confirmed beyond that. Boone himself said that he has not had any conversations yet on an extension, with the 2025 season the only one he is still contracted for as of now.
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: In case you missed it, a number of Yankees will be up for the BBWAA awards this year, as Aaron Judge and Juan Soto are among the finalists for AL MVP, while Luis Gil and Austin Wells are among the top three for AL Rookie of the Year.
Dodgers Digest | Daniel Brim: This may be a link to a Dodgers website but it is a very good rundown of Roki Sasaki, the Japanese pitching phenom set to be posted and heading over to MLB. The Yankees may not be the team expected to land the 23-year-old Sasaki, but they — and almost everyone else — will certainly try to get him, and this scouting report and rundown tells why.
CBS Sports | R.J. Anderson: We are into hot stove season, and here is a rundown of some moves and rumors, including one about the Yankees. The Bombers were reportedly one of the teams interested in first baseman Christian Walker, who is coming off a couple impressive seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
MLB Trade Rumors | Darragh McDonald: Some shakeup is coming to the Yankees' coaching staff in the form of a departure, as the Mets have hired away assistant pitching coach Desi Druschel. Formerly in charge of Yankees minor league pitching development, Druschel has been the Yankees' assistant pitching coach under Matt Blake since 2021, but will head across town to the same position with the Mets.
