Yankees didn't offer Gleyber a contract; Burnes departs the AL East; Dodgers get their meeting with Sasaki.

New York Post | Mike Puma: Gleyber Torres told the media Saturday that he did not receive an offer from the Yankees prior to signing with the Tigers this week. The second baseman was magnanimous in reflecting on his time with the organization and expressed pride in what he accomplished during his tenure in New York. Torres indicated the Angels and Nationals were among the other clubs who made him offers. As for his former team's lack of interest this offseason, Gleyber stated simply, "I think they have other priorities and I'm not on the list."

ESPN | Jeff Passan: The big baseball news of the day was the Diamondbacks signing ace Corbin Burnes to a six-year, $210 million deal. The contract falls shy of Max Fried's total value but represents the top starter AAV of the free agent cycle at $35 million per year. Burnes represents a major departure for the Orioles, with whom he finished fifth in Cy Young voting this past year.

MLB Trade Rumors | Nick Deeds: The Roki Sasaki sweepstakes continues with the Japanese star making his latest meeting, this one with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers have long been rumored to be the heavy frontrunner for Sasaki's services, though his agent has downplayed rumors that a handshake deal is already in place between the two. It appears likely that this will be one of the last meetings Sasaki conducts before going home to Japan for the holidays and then returning to conduct a second round of meetings before his posting date of January 15th, so we'll have to wait and see if the Yankees get another chance to woo the talented 23-year-old.
