The Dallas Mavericks‘ dynamic backcourt duo is going to be missing one of its members.
Mavericks star Luka Doncic sustained a wrist injury and is expected to miss time, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday.
NBA correspondent Marc Stein added that the early expectation is that Doncic will be re-evaluated in one week.
Doncic won last season's NBA scoring title, averaging 33.9 points per game, to go with 9.2 rebounds and 9.8 assists. This season, he is averaging 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists in 14 games.
With Doncic out, veteran guard Kyrie Irving will be asked to do much of the heavy lifting.
Dallas sits 11th in the Western Conference with an 8-7 record.
