Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball will miss at least two weeks with a left calf strain. Ball was injured in the Hornets game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday.

Ball missed Charlotte's home loss to the New York Knicks on Friday. Prior to that game, the veteran point guard had played in the first 18 games for the Hornets this season.

The season, Ball has averaged 31.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Last year, the Hornets star guard missed 60 games with an ankle injury.

Ball is the latest in a long line of injuries for Charlotte. The Hornets have played without centers Mark Williams and Nick Richards for most of the season. Forward Grant Williams is out for the year with a torn ACL. Starting forward Miles Bridges has missed several game with knee soreness. And backup guard Tre Mann has been in and out of the lineup with back soreness over the last two weeks.
