Speaking on NBA Countdown before Game 4, ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski dropped a couple of news items. Both pieces of information concerned Boston Celtics guard Derrick White.

Wojnarowski said White is under serious consideration to join Team USA for this summer's Paris Olympics. If Kawhi Leonard of the LA Clippers can't get his knee to a place where he can play, White is considered the top choice to replace him. Leonard was injured leading up to the NBA playoffs, and missed time during the Clippers first-round playoff series.

If named to the team, White would join Celtics teammates Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday.

The other item Wojnarowski passed along is that White and the Celtics are both making signing an extension a huge priority this summer. White is eligible to sign a four-year extension worth $129 million this offseason. If no agreement is reached before June 30, 2025, then White would be an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
