2024 NBA Draft Big Board 5.0: Zaccharie Risacher leads final top 100 rankings

https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/2024-NBA-Draft-Big-Board-5.0-Zaccharie-Risacher-Alex-Sarr-lead-final-top-100-rankings.jpg

With just one day until the 2024 NBA Draft, there are still a lot of unknowns that could reshape the league as we know it. Aside from the possibility of big names being on the move during and after the draft, there is still no clarity at the top of the NBA Draft Big Board pertaining to who the Atlanta Hawks will be selecting between Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr, and Donovan Clingan.

The Hawks could possibly explore the idea of trading the first overall pick due to their strong interest in Clingan. Then again, general manager Landry Fields recently told reporters that the team is planning on staying where they are, leading many to believe Risacher is going to be their selection due to the French wing being at the top of most teams draft boards. Although they held strong interest in him to begin the pre-draft process, it no longer appears as if Atlanta is targeting Sarr. However, perhaps the Hawks have fooled everyone and will take Sarr first overall in what would be one of the biggest NBA Draft smokescreens known to date.

Sure, the 2024 NBA Draft Big Board may not feature generational talents like Victor Wembanyama or Anthony Edwards, but there are still a ton of unique, athletic, and versatile players who can instantly improve their new team’s chances of finding success. Ron Holland and Matas Buzelis are both viewed as lottery picks from the G League Ignite. Stephon Castle joins Clingan as another UConn Huskie inside the top 10. Plus, Nikola Topic and Tidjane Salaun are two other international prospects many teams have been gathering intel on.

At the end of the day, the NBA Draft Big Board truly doesn’t mean all that much. This is just an assortment of talent that has been evaluated and ranked from No. 1 to No. 100 overall over the last few months. Just because a player is ranked in one spot doesn’t mean that is where he will end up during the draft. In addition, just because a player is ranked outside of the first or second round doesn’t mean he won’t get drafted in that spot.

After many changes in the weeks leading up to the draft, we have finally arrived at ClutchPoints’ 2024 NBA Draft Big Board 5.0 and final Top 100 rankings based on evaluations and observations from scouts, team executives, and others around the league.

1. Zaccharie Risacher – France (JL Bourg – LNB) [-]

2023-24 Stats: 65 games, 11.1 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 47.0 FG%, 38.7 3P%

Position: SF, Height: 6’10", Weight: 195 lbs, Wingspan: 6’9.5″"

The vast majority of teams across the NBA have Zaccharie Risacher at the top of their NBA Draft Big Boards leading into the draft on Wednesday. Risacher has remained in consideration for the first overall pick throughout the pre-draft process, and it makes sense as to why this is. At just under 6’10” with an even wingspan, Risacher possesses the potential to grow into a real two-way threat in the NBA. He really helped himself in the French League playoffs, showcasing his three-point shooting and rebounding abilities. Risacher can make an impact right away due to his versatility on the wing, as well as his natural scoring abilities as a shooter both on the perimeter and in the mid-range area.

The Hawks hold high interest in Risacher with the first overall pick, league sources told ClutchPoints. Despite this interest, Atlanta has flirted with the idea of trading down from the No. 1 pick, as the San Antonio Spurs are another team linked to the French forward. In the event the Hawks do not take him first, there doesn’t appear to be a scenario in which Risacher would fall past the Spurs at No. 4 overall. Out of all the players in this year’s draft, he is the safest bet to hear his name called first by commissioner Adam Silver.

2. Alex Sarr – France (Perth Wildcats – NBL) [-]

2023-24 Stats: 30 games, 9.6 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 1.5 BLK, 50.0 FG%, 27.6 3P%

Position: PF/C, Height: 6’11.75", Weight: 224 lbs, Wingspan: 7’4.25"

Alex Sarr was widely viewed as the favorite to be the first pick in the 2024 NBA Draft heading into the pre-draft process due to his length and defensive tenacity. When you look at Sarr, the biggest thing that stands out is his 9’2″ standing reach and lateral quickness at either the power forward or center positions. Upon his arrival in the NBA, Sarr shouldn’t have much of a hard time making a name for himself defensively in terms of keeping his opponents in front of him and denying them opportunities at the rim. On offense, he can handle the ball and be a secondary facilitator at the top of the arc for his team.

It is hard to envision a scenario where Sarr is not one of the first two players taken in the 2024 NBA Draft. Although recent rumors suggest the Hawks aren’t interested in Sarr, the Washington Wizards are prepared to select him second overall, sources said. Expect to see Sarr make an impact as a rookie due to his ability to impact pick-and-roll sets both on offense and defense.

3. Donovan Clingan – UConn – Sophomore [-]

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 35 games, 13.0 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 2.5 BLK, 63.9 FG%

Position: C, Height: 7’1.75", Weight: 282 lbs, Wingspan: 7’6.75"

Out of all the players ranked inside the top 10 of the NBA Draft Big Board, Donovan Clingan is the one generating the most buzz. Not only are the Hawks interested in Clingan with the first pick, but the Spurs have also been linked to the two-time national champion. The Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers have also explored trade possibilities to move up and have a chance at grabbing Clingan. There is really no telling as to where the big man could end up in this year’s draft, as there is just as much of a chance of him slipping to the Spurs at No. 4 or the Detroit Pistons at No. 5 as there is him going first to the Hawks.

Any team that selects Clingan will be getting the most NBA-ready frontcourt player in this draft. With a 7’7″ wingspan and the shot-blocking instincts he possesses, Clingan will be able to make a difference right away as a defensive anchor for his NBA team. What makes Clingan such a fascinating prospect is he has been working tirelessly on his perimeter game offensively. He is even better in the low post. Whereas most big guys in the league can’t catch anything thrown their way, the UConn product basically operates as a tight end on the floor, catching every pass thrown to him. Clingan checks off all the boxes for being an All-Rookie talent in his first year.

4. Ron Holland – USA (G League Ignite) [-]

2023-24 Stats: 18 games, 20.6 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 3.2 APG, 2.5 STL, 44.3 FG%, 24.0 3P%

Position: SF, Height: 6’6.5", Weight: 197 lbs, Wingspan: 6’10.75″

There may not be a more athletic and versatile wing in this draft class who has the potential to grow into a star than Ron Holland. At the same time, Holland is a risk due to his streaky shooting numbers and the fact that he is still only 18 years old. As much of a good thing as youth can be, it is also a risk for a team with a lottery pick searching for a new cornerstone to attempt to build around. Still, Holland checks off the boxes in terms of having elite intangible qualities. He hustles, is already a strong defender, and isn’t afraid to take jumpers despite his low shooting numbers with the G League Ignite.

Due to others rising up draft boards, Holland’s stock has fluctuated through the weeks leading up to the draft. Even with some teams inside the top 10 still holding interest in Holland, the vast majority of the league believes he will be available in the late-lottery area. The Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, and Utah Jazz are all possible landing spots for Holland.

5. Stephon Castle – UConn – Freshman [-]

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 34 games, 11.1 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 2.9 APG, 47.2 FG%, 26.7 3P%

Position: PG/SG, Height: 6’5.5", Weight: 210 lbs, Wingspan: 6’9″

After just one year at UConn, Stephon Castle finds himself entering the NBA Draft as the best guard on some teams’ boards. Castle is a two-way guard who can play on or off the ball offensively. He thrives when he is able to be his team’s primary facilitator. Despite shooting less than 30 percent from three-point range in college, Castle projects to be an all-around factor on offense due to his motor and agileness. Defensively, he can be a pest who can defend the whole length of the court. In terms of his game on both sides of the court, Castle is the best guard in this year’s draft.

There are quite a few teams interested in Castle, starting with the Spurs at No. 4 overall. Should he fall past San Antonio, Castle will draw the attention of the Charlotte Hornets with the sixth overall pick. If by some chance he is available by the time the Spurs are picking again at eighth overall, there is no chance they wouldn’t take him in this spot since San Antonio is operating with the mindset of taking the best available talents. Castle still needs time to develop his overall offensive game, but he is certainly the kind of player that can become a lead guard for any team.

6. Nikola Topic – Serbia (Crvena zvezda – Serbia) [-]

2023-24 Stats: 23 games, 14.5 PPG, 5.5 APG, 3.2 RPG, 1.0 STL, 49.8 FG%, 30.6 3P%

Position: PG, Height: 6’7", Weight: 203 lbs, Wingspan: 6’5.5″

It was recently revealed that Nikola Topic has a partially torn ACL and could miss the entirety of his rookie season. Since he is still only 18 years old, this is not all that concerning of an injury, as teams picking inside the top 10 still know what Topic is capable of. Once labeled as a possible No. 1 overall pick, Topic will bring stability and primary ball handling to whatever team he ends up on. The Serbian is a crafty finisher who is comfortable getting to the rim with either hand. There is no pass Topic can’t make, and teams have not been shy about calling him the best passer in this draft class.

Whether or not Topic falls due to his knee injury is one of the major questions at hand ahead of the draft. Once thought to be a top-five pick, Topic is drawing interest from teams with picks in the 7-to-12 range. Teams such as the Spurs, Jazz, and Grizzlies appear to be the most likely landing spots for Topic, unless he is to fall further in the lottery. It is certainly possible that a team will pinpoint Topic as a possible trade-up option on draft night if he falls out of the top 10.

7. Matas Buzelis – USA/Lithuania (G League Ignite) [-]

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 26 games, 14.3 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 2.1 BLK, 44.5 FG%, 27.3 3P%

Position: SF, Height: 6’8.75", Weight: 197 lbs, Wingspan: 6’10”

Confidence is one word to describe Matas Buzelis. Although he may not be the most athletic prospect, Buzelis’ jumper is smooth, and he truly believee he is the best player in this draft class. Overall, Buzelis possesses a really strong feel for the game that can’t really be taught. The game comes naturally to the G League Ignite product, which is why there is potential for him to grow into a complete facilitator and scorer while nearly standing seven feet tall on the wing. If he can continue to work on his perimeter game and hit jumpers with consistency from the three-point line, Buzelis could end up being the best player in this draft class.

The Pistons have been labeled as the most likely landing spot for Buzelis with the fifth overall pick. His length and positional versatility make him a great fit for a team led by Cade Cunningham. The Bulls, Hornets, and Grizzlies are three other teams that have shown interest in Buzelis throughout the pre-draft process. It would come as a surprise to many if he wasn’t a top-five pick.

8. Reed Sheppard – Kentucky – Freshman [-]

2023-24 Stats: 33 games, 14.5 PPG, 4.5 APG, 4.3 RPG 2.5 STL, 53.6 FG%, 52.1 3P%

Position: PG/SG, Height: 6’1.75", Weight: 182 lbs, Wingspan: 6’3.25″

Reed Sheppard is most likely the best perimeter shooter in the 2024 NBA Draft. There isn’t one spot on the floor he struggles to shoot from, and Sheppard plays with an attitude to his game that resonates with his teammates. On defense, he will never back down to any challenge and will have no problem picking up physical fouls to set the tone of play. Don’t let his 6’3″ size fool you, because Sheppard is a lot stronger than he looks. Ultimately, three-point shooting is what stands out about Sheppard in terms of his game translating to the NBA right away.

The general consensus around the league is the Hornets are Sheppard’s floor with the sixth overall pick. However, the Houston Rockets, at third overall, are viewed as the most likely landing spot for the Kentucky guard. Due to their desire to add more NBA-ready talents in pursuit of a playoff run, the Rockets could be inclined to trade this pick to another team wanting to trade up for Sheppard.

9. Tidjane Salaun – France (Cholet Basket – LNB) [-]

2023-24 Stats: 53 games, 9.8 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 1.1 STL, 40.8 FG%, 32.3 3P%

Position: SF/PF, Height: 6’10", Weight: 217 lbs, Wingspan: 7’2″

Tidjane Salaun is the third French-born player to find himself inside the top 10 of our final NBA Draft Big Board. Still just 18 years old, Salaun is very raw in terms of the player he could become. Standing 6’10” with a wingspan reported at 7’2″, the French forward projects to be a key factor on both sides of the basketball. The key to Salaun finding success in the NBA will be getting strong and having a better understanding of how to space the floor properly, especially if he is going to be playing out on the wing.

Due to the unknowns in his game, Salaun has worked out for virtually every team picking inside the top 10. He has drawn interest from the Pistons and Spurs all the way to the Thunder and Blazers at the back end of the lottery. Salaun may just possess the most potential to turn into an everyday starter, which is why a wide array of teams are intrigued by his physique.

10. Devin Carter – Providence – Junior [-]

Kyle Ross-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 33 games, 19.7 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 3.6 APG, 1.8 STL, 1.0 BLK, 47.3 FG%, 37.7 3P%

Position: PG/SG, Height: 6’2.5", Weight: 193 lbs, Wingspan: 6’8.75″

Teams are more fascinated with Devin Carter’s abilities to be a primary guard defender than a factor on offense right away. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Carter being a potential top-10 pick in recent weeks, and it is clear to see why since he is one of the better on-ball defenders in the draft. From deflecting passes to blocking shots, Carter can do it all on the floor, which makes him unique given that he was primarily utilized as a lead guard at Providence. Carter could step into the role of a defensive stopper on the perimeter during his rookie year.

The Bulls, Grizzlies, Spurs, and Kings all have interest in Carter, sources said. It is reasonable to believe a team will take a swing at him inside the top 10 of the draft.

11. Dalton Knecht – Tennessee – Senior [+2]

2023-24 Stats: 36 games, 21.7 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 1.8 AST, 45.8 FG%, 39.7 3P%

Position: SG/SF, Height: 6’5.25", Weight: 212 lbs, Wingspan: 6’9″

Any team wanting to add an immediate source of offensive production will love to select Dalton Knecht in this year’s draft. The Trail Blazers are a team with strong interest in Knecht, sources said. The Spurs, Hornets, and Grizzlies are three other teams that have been linked to the Tennessee product in recent weeks.

Out of all the players in this draft class, Knecht has the smoothest-looking jumper from the perimeter. Averaging over 21 points per game while shooting nearly 40 percent from three-point range in college, Knecht has proven throughout his career he can be a sustainable shooting threat. His best attribute is the fact he isn’t a stationary three-point shooter. There is no doubt that Knecht can step in and help any team on the perimeter right away.

12. Cody Williams – Colorado – Freshman [-1]

2023-24 Stats: 24 games, 11.9 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 1.6 APG, 55.2 FG%, 41.5 3P%

Position: SF, Height: 6’6.5", Weight: 178 lbs, Wingspan: 7’1″

Cody Williams is the biggest wild card on the NBA Draft Big Board due to how undeveloped his game is. The brother of Oklahoma City Thunder swingman Jalen Williams, Cody made a name for himself in his first collegiate season with the Buffaloes by proving to be a modern-day point forward. He can bring the ball up the floor, make plays for his teammates, and simply help facilitate an offense. Defensively, Williams’ length is what stands out.

At the same time, Williams hasn’t displayed strong shooting tendencies, nor does he possess a strong frame. There are some concerns Williams could get bullied by regular NBA wings during his rookie season. Still, the Pistons, Grizzlies, Blazers, and Jazz all have reported interest in him.

13. Rob Dillingham – Kentucky – Freshman [-1]

Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 32 games, 15.2 PPG, 3.9 APG, 2.9 RPG, 1.0 STL, 47.5 FG%, 44.4 3P%

Position: PG, Height: 6’1", Weight: 164 lbs, Wingspan: 6’3″

An ankle injury caused Rob Dillingham to get a late start on the pre-draft process and workouts, leading many teams to turn to other names ahead of him. Although he could fall out of the top 10 now, Dillingham is a dynamic and athletic guard who uses his motor to explode past defenders. He also shot over 40 percent from three-point range this past season at Kentucky. It will be interesting to see if his quickness and strong ball-handling skills translate to the NBA against bigger, stronger guards. The biggest advantage Dillingham has entering the draft over other guards is his overall offensive game.

Any team wanting to add shooting and a scoring presence to their backcourt will be intrigued by Dillingham. The Spurs, Bulls, and Heat are possible destinations for him on draft night.

14. Ja’Kobe Walter – Baylor – Freshman [+2]

2023-24 Stats: 35 games, 14.5 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 1.1 STL, 37.6 FG%, 34.1 3P%

Position: SG, Height: 6’4.25", Weight: 198 lbs, Wingspan: 6’10”

Chatter surrounding Ja’Kobe Walter has grown louder ahead of the NBA Draft. Multiple lottery teams have labeled Walter as a potential top-10 pick, and this is due to his length as a 3-and-D wing. Catch-and-shoot threes are where Walter tends to thrive the most, especially when he is able to run from corner to corner on offense. As far as shotmaking goes, he is one of the better offensive talents in this year’s draft at 19 years old. Teams that run a lot of actions off of screens on offense will be targeting a player like Walter.

The one downside to Walter is he is not the quickest wing. He doesn’t make a ton of flashy plays, but Walter makes up for it with his strong shooting abilities. Walter is surely one of the more underrated shooting guards in the 2024 NBA Draft.

15. Jared McCain – Duke – Freshman [-1]

2023-24 Stats: 36 games, 14.3 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 1.1 STL, 46.2 FG%, 41.4 3P%

Position: PG, Height: 6’2", Weight: 203 lbs, Wingspan: 6’3.5″

The pick-and-roll game is where Jared McCain can do a lot of damage, not only due to his shooting abilities but also because of his general feel for being a lead guard. His three-point shooting numbers are what stand out the most for the point guard. However, don’t sleep on McCain’s midrange game, as he is more than comfortable pump-faking and taking a step in to break down his opponent’s defense. McCain also tends to make the right plays due to his overall feel for the game.

The one downside to McCain is he is a smaller guard who could get picked on defensively. Toughness isn’t a question for McCain, but teams will target him on switches early on because of his small frame. Nonetheless, he is a 20-year-old guard with the instincts of a multi-year veteran.

16. Isaiah Collier – USC – Freshman [-1]

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 27 games, 16.3 PPG, 4.3 APG, 2.9 RPG, 1.5 STL, 49.0 FG%, 33.8 3P%

Position: PG, Height: 6’2.5", Weight: 205 lbs, Wingspan: 6’4.75″

Isaiah Collier has gone down NBA Draft Big Boards in recent weeks due to concerns surrounding his turnovers and shot selection. In terms of being an athlete and his motor, Collier stands out among the rest of the guards in this draft class. Once a sure-thing lottery pick, Collier is now expected to have suitors in the 15-to-30 range of the first round.

Collier simply looks to attack his opponents on offense. He would much rather get to the rim and finish through contact than settle for a jump shot, and he is not afraid to utilize his larger frame to punish defenders. Once he gets that first step past his defender, Collier is tough to stop. There are teams that will pass up on him, but there are also organizations hoping Collier falls their way on draft night. He could wind up being a player teams look to trade up for.

17. Kel’el Ware – Indiana – Sophomore [-]

2023-24 Stats: 30 games, 15.9 PPG, 9.9 RPG, 1.9 BLK, 58.6 FG%, 42.5 3P%

Position: C, Height: 6’11.75", Weight: 230 lbs, Wingspan: 7’4.5″

Teams are always searching for mobile big men who can run the floor and play above the rim on both sides of the ball. This is what Kel’el Ware brings to the table. Unlike most big men, Ware is capable of stepping out on the perimeter and shooting at a high rate. His shooting form is not the best, but it works for him. Ware is obviously a shot-blocking threat on defense due to his length, and his ability to alter shots makes him someone NBA teams can rely on defensively.

Although he has received interest from teams picking in the lottery, Ware’s range is simply anywhere in the first round. He could wind up slipping into the 20s based on how front offices around the league evaluate the market for centers.

18. Tristan da Silva – Colorado – Senior [-]

2023-24 Stats: 34 games, 16.0 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 2.4 APG, 1.1 STL, 49.3 FG%, 39.5 3P%

Position: SF/PF, Height: 6’8.25", Weight: 217 lbs, Wingspan: 6’10.25″

Tristan Da Silva is the definition of a player who works hard. That can be seen through the developments he made at Colorado by going from a bench talent to the face of the team. He is a warrior who has really become a multi-purpose offensive threat, with or without the ball. Think of da Silva as a forward who can play off the ball as a shooter, while also operating as a guard for his team that can bring the ball up the floor and set his teammates up for scoring opportunities.

“If you've seen me over these last four years, you have a good idea of the type of person and player I am," da Silva told ClutchPoints in an exclusive pre-draft interview. "If NBA teams are still questioning whether I can bring anything to the table for them, then it's a mistake on their part!”

There have been some rumblings about teams with late lottery picks eyeing da Silva. He is expected to be off the board in the 12-to-17 range.

19. Kyle Filipowski – Duke – Sophomore [+1]

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 36 games, 16.4 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 2.8 APG, 1.5 BLK, 50.5 FG%, 34.8 3P%

Position: PF/C, Height: 6’10.75", Weight: 230 lbs, Wingspan: 6’10.5″

Standing just under 7’0″ tall, Kyle Filipowski moves well and can do a little bit of everything for his team on offense. In addition to possessing great footwork in the low post, Filipowski is confident with the ball in his hands as a facilitator for his teammates. Whether or not he will be able to hold his own defensively at the center position remains to be seen. Filipowski is drawing interest from teams in the lottery to those with the very last picks in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft.

20. Yves Missi – Baylor – Freshman [+1]

2023-24 Stats: 34 games, 10.4 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 1.5 BLK, 61.4 FG%

Position: C, Height: 6’10.75", Weight: 229 lbs, Wingspan: 7’2″

Yves Missi is a traditional, lengthy big man who thrives in pick-and-roll sets. Missi has shown the ability to set really strong screens for his guards, and he proved to be one of the better lob threats in the country during his freshman year at Baylor. Unlike most big men who need to clear space, Missi has a knack for getting behind his defenders and positioning himself for lobs at the rim.

There is a lot of talk about Missi being the main target of the New Orleans Pelicans during the draft. This would be a spot that makes sense for the 20-year-old big man, especially with Jonas Valanciunas likely departing New Orleans this offseason.

21. Kyshawn George – Miami (FL) – Freshman [+2]

2023-24 Stats: 31 games, 7.6 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 2.2 APG, 0.9 STL, 42.6 FG%, 40.8 3P%

Position: SG, Height: 6’7", Weight: 209 lbs, Wingspan: 6’10.25″

Kyshawn George has turned himself into a freshman on a lot of teams’ radars right now ahead of the NBA Draft. George can pull up from anywhere beyond the arc, and his confidence is through the roof. Other than being a shooting threat, where George can make an impact on offense is the big question since he doesn’t possess a great first step. What stands out about the shooting guard is his 6’7″ frame and his three-point shooting percentage. These are certainly two aspects of his game that have teams interested.

22. Bobi Klintman – Sweden (Cairns Taipans – NBL) [-3]

2023-24 Stats: 23 games, 9.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 0.8 STL, 44.3 FG%, 35.7 3P%

Position: SF/PF, Height: 6’8.75", Weight: 212 lbs, Wingspan: 6’11”

Bobi Klintman has suitors in the 20-to-30 range of the first round. However, it is possible he could fall into the second round of the draft. The Swedish forward is a lengthy wing who possesses a 6’11" wingspan and could instantly be a factor for a team that likes to push the pace. It will take a little bit of time, but Klintman has the capability to turn into an impactful two-way player in either forward position. Any team that is eyeing Klintman will need to work a little bit more on his offensive game.

23. Carlton Carrington – Pittsburgh – Freshman [+3]

Amber Searls-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 33 games, 13.8 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 4.1 APG, 41.2 FG%, 32.2 3P%

Position: PG, Height: 6’3.75", Weight: 195 lbs, Wingspan: 6’8″

Carlton Carrington checks off the boxes for being a modern-day point guard. Carrington has the size and strength to hold his own against multiple positions, and he can simply find his shot from anywhere on the court. If he sees one go in, Carrington won’t be afraid to continue letting the ball fly out of his hands. Not to mention, his isolation game and shooting stroke are NBA-ready. The best part about Carrington is he still has room to grow as a playmaker and finisher in the lane. He will undoubtedly be a prospect many teams target should he fall outside of the top 20.

24. Baylor Scheierman – Creighton – Senior [-]

2023-24 Stats: 35 games, 18.5 PPG, 9.0 REB, 3.9 AST, 44.8 FG%, 38.1 3P%

Position: SG, Height: 6’6.25", Weight: 202 lbs, Wingspan: 6’8.25″

Baylor Scheirman projects to be one of the safest picks in the first round of this year’s draft due to his natural basketball instincts. Everyone is aware of what Scheierman can do from the perimeter, as he became the first player in NCAA history to record at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 500 assists, and 300 three-pointers in his career. However, this has overshadowed other aspects of his game, such as defense and passing. Scheierman can provide instant production as a second-unit player due to his shooting and playmaking abilities, which is why a playoff-ready team will be lucky to add him.

25. Tyler Kolek – Marquette – Senior [-]

2023-24 Stats: 31 games, 15.3 PPG, 7.7 APG, 4.9 RPG, 1.6 STL, 49.6 FG%, 38.8 3P%

Position: PG, Height: 6’1.25", Weight: 197 lbs, Wingspan: 6’2.75″

Tyler Kolek is a true point guard who can bring value to a playoff-contending team due to his ability to instantly be a reliable backup in this league. The thing about Kolek is he’s 23 years old, which is why other younger, more athletic guards are ranked ahead of him. In terms of pure skill and ability to impact the game, Kolek is just as good as any other guard on this NBA Draft Big Board. When it comes to pick-and-roll sets, there may not be a better distributor of the basketball. Buy stock in Kolek’s game now before it is too late.

26. Ryan Dunn – Virginia – Sophomore [+1]

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 34 games, 8.1 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 2.3 BLK, 1.3 STL, 54.8 FG%, 20.0 3P%

Position: SF, Height: 6’6.25", Weight: 214 lbs, Wingspan: 7’1.5″

Various teams picking in the 20s have registered interest in Ryan Dunn, sources said. The New York Knicks have been the team linked the most to Dunn, given his defensive style of play. Dunn possesses a long wingspan, and he uses it to his advantage, especially as a primary on-ball defender. Whether it is blocking shots or punching the ball out to create transition opportunities, Dunn has proven to be a player who could grow into an All-Defensive type of wing. It is certainly possible that a team will look to trade up for the forward on draft night.

27. DaRon Holmes II – Dayton – Junior [+1]

2023-24 Stats: 33 games, 20.4 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 2.6 APG, 2.1 BLK, 54.4 FG%, 38.6 3P%

Position: PF/C, Height: 6’8.75", Weight: 236 lbs, Wingspan: 7’1″

Although he may not be the biggest frontcourt player on the NBA Draft Big Board, DaRon Holmes II is an experienced option who thrives in pick-and-roll situations. Not only can he play well above the rim, but Holmes has the capability to be a strong pick-and-pop player in the NBA. Holmes can block shots at one end and then be involved on offense. This is why he has drawn interest from teams inside the top 20 of the NBA Draft.

28. Tyler Smith – USA (G League Ignite) [-6]

2023-24 Stats: 27 games, 13.4 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 1.2 APG, 1.0 BLK, 47.6 FG%, 36.4 3P%

Position: SF/PF, Height: 6’9", Weight: 223 lbs, Wingspan: 7’1″

Tyler Smith is a lengthy forward who can play out on the wing, but he is likely to be utilized as a power forward in the NBA. After flying under the radar while at Overtime Elite, Smith has drawn attention as a first-round prospect due to his perimeter point of attack. At the same time, Smith can oftentimes get lost defensively, and he still has work to do in order to become a solid shooter from the perimeter. This is why he could possibly fall to the second round.

29. Johnny Furphy – Kansas – Freshman [-]

2023-24 Stats: 33 games, 9.0 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 0.9 STL, 46.6 FG%, 35.2 3P%

Position: SF, Height: 6’7.5", Weight: 189 lbs, Wingspan: 6’8″

While Johnny Furphy projects to be a solid three-point shooting weapon, there are questions about his ability to put the ball on the floor and make plays. His best attribute is simply being a jump shooter from the perimeter. Teams have been intrigued by Furphy’s 6’8″ frame, especially since he could play the shooting guard position early on in his career. Furphy showed flashes of what he could do defensively at Kansas, but he can be susceptible to losing his man at times. Until he develops further, Furphy appears to be an athletic wing who will look to shoot the three and make a name for himself running in transition.

30. Terrence Shannon Jr. – Illinois – Senior [+4]

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

2023-24 Stats: 32 games, 23.0 PPG, 4.0 REB, 2.3 AST, 1.0 STL, 47.5 FG%, 36.2 3P%

Position: SG, Height: 6’5.75", Weight: 219 lbs, Wingspan: 6’8.75″

After being found not guilty in his felony rape and aggravated sexual assault case, Terrence Shannon Jr. is once again drawing first-round buzz. Various teams nearing the end of the first round are interested in Shannon due to his natural scoring abilities on the wing. His quick first step allows Shannon to drive downhill towards the rim, where he normally finished things off with a slam dunk in college. Despite there being questions associated with his shooting numbers, Shannon will be an offensive role player from his very first game in the NBA.
