After competing under the PFL banner earlier this year, former UFC star, Yoel Romero returned to action this past Saturday in a unique new promotion set up by fellow former UFC fighter, Mike Perry.

Although Perry is hopeful that his new business venture will take off like he has helped BKFC do, the inaugural Dirty Boxing event took place underground in Miami behind closed doors.

From clips shown online by the official Dirty Boxing social media accounts, fans have compared it to a scene out of Fight Club.

Despite being 47 years old, Romero once again showcased why he is considered a freak athlete when he knocked the PowerSlap fighter out in the first round.

Following his blockbuster knockout of Crespo, Romero made it clear that his contract with PFL/Bellator is still active and there are ongoing talks for him to fight for the title.

This past Monday, the 47-year-old called his shot when he presented a fight offer to the internet sensation turned boxer, Jake Paul.

‘The Problem Child’ recently competed in the biggest combat sports event in modern history, where he took on Mike Tyson in an event streamed live on Netflix. Since then, the 27-year-old has been called out by several boxing champions.

Romero, though, is hopeful that Perry’s former opponent will do him the honor of stepping into the Dirty Boxing ring to take him on.

“Hey Jake Paul, you want to get dirty?” Romero asked Paul on X whilst tagging Dirty Boxing and Mike Perry.

Although the inaugural Dirty Boxing event was behind closed doors, there were several star-studded fighters in attendance to watch the night of underground fights go down.

The most notable of which, was UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, who was in attendance to see his longtime friend, Romero, compete once again.

“Jonny and I have had a relationship for many years already, we’ve had a great friendship and I’m always very grateful whenever he comes to see me fight,” Romero told The Schmo.

“It’s no surprise everyone knows he is the figure in the sport of MMA and with all his success and all his triumphs for him to come and see me fight, it’s a great honor.

“He’s always giving me tips and sharing little tricks that work for the fight,” the former UFC star continued.
