This past October at the UFC 308 pre-fight press conference, an unsigned prospect from Tajikistan got on the mic and begged Dana White for an opportunity to fight in the UFC.
With Dana White’s Contender Series continuing to grow into one of the UFC’s most fruitful products for unsigned contenders, more fighters are beginning to call for opportunities in the promotion.
However, with the Contender Series only running for eight weeks of the year, the UFC CEO continues to branch out to try and find talent from the regional scene with Dana White‘s Lookin’ for a Fight.
Fighter begged Dana White for a UFC opportunity at the UFC 308 press conference
Earlier this October at the blockbuster UFC 308 event in Abu Dhabi, at the press conference days out from fight night, an unsigned fighter made his way to the microphone and shot his shot with White.
Dorobsho Nabotov began by reading out his credentials to the UFC boss and then proceeded to beg for an opportunity in the UFC.
The 25-year-old is currently undefeated at lightweight as a professional having been competing on the regional scene in Russia, with four decisions, three KOs, and one submission.
White asked the Tajik where he had been during the filming of the Contender Series and it seemed as though he was going to dismiss his request.
Despite that, the UFC boss then called the 25-year-old onto the stage and began talking with him briefly before sending him backstage to wait for him.

Dorobsho Nabotov to make an appearance on Dana White’s Lookin’ for a Fight
One of the UFC’s products that is universally loved by the fans, is Dana White Lookin’ for a Fight. The premise of the show is that White, Matt Serra, and Din Thomas go to a regional MMA show to try and scout the next batch of talent.
Current UFC bantamweight champion, Merab Dvalishvili is the most notable name to have been signed from the show after he knocked out former Bellator champion Raufeon Stots in the first 15 seconds of their Ring of Combat 59 main event.
It was announced earlier this week that Nabotov will get his opportunity at a UFC contract, with him set to take on Matheus Camilo at ZFN on December 14.
ZFN 02 is a new South Korean promotion founded by former UFC star, Chan Sung Jung, ‘The Korean Zombie’, and their shows will air live on UFC Fight Pass.
Dana White and his team are scheduled to attend the second ZFN event on December 14 where they will film a new episode of Dana White’s Lookin’ for a Fight.
