Raul Rosas Jr. had a late scare in his fight against Vince Morales, but still walked out of UFC Mexico with a unanimous decision victory added to his résumé.

A strong start for Rosas led to multiple takedowns and a couple of near submissions and he controlled Morales on the ground. The third round saw Morales go for broke when he nearly locked on a fight-ending D'Arce choke. Rosas eventually fought his way free ensure he would make it to the final horn.

When it was over, all three judges scored the fight 29-28 for Rosas, who was elated to get the win in front of a raucous crowd in Mexico.

"Dana [White], thank you for allowing me coming in here tonight to redeem myself in front of my Mexican people," Rosas said referencing when he was forced out of a prior UFC Mexico card due to illness. "I'm just 20 years old, five victories inside the UFC octagon. Just see me evolve throughout the years. Whoever is going to take me to that belt. Let's get it."

An early takedown from Rosas led to some slick inside punches and elbows with Morales stuck on his back playing defense. While Morales did his best to play defense, Rosas was relentless with his attacks as he kept scrambling and taking a superior position on the ground.

The aggressive offense from Rosas actually left him open for a well-timed counter as Morales scored a reversal and tried to set up a Peruvian necktie just before the opening round ended.

As the fight continued, Rosas kept pressing forward and with Morales not offering him much to worry about on the feet, the 20-year-old prospect was able to take the action back down to the ground. While Morales was making him work, Rosas stayed in control and made sure he never lost his position to continue racking up points on the scorecard.

In desperate need of a late comeback, Morales nearly pulled it off when he grabbed onto an anaconda choke and then transitioned to a D'Arce choke and it appeared for a moment that he might put Rosas away. To Rosas stayed patient and never stopped moving until the finally slipped free to get back on top again.

Morales made one last attempt at latching onto a submission just before the final horn sounded, but Rosas held on to ensure the victory.

Rosas has now rattled off four straight wins since suffering the only loss of his career and he's continuing to evolve with every performance. With the UFC returning to Mexico in September for the third ever Noche UFC card, Rosas might hope his next fight gets booked there after receiving quite a reception for his latest performance Saturday.
